The festive season is upon us, so Pacific Place and Starstreet Precinct are bringing a blast of holiday magic to Hong Kong
From now to 2 January 2024, Pacific Place and Starstreet Precinct are set to transform into a winter wonderland akin to one in a fairytale, where countless festivities await. Aptly enough, Pacific Place has enlisted the talents of South Korean illustrator Minji Kim, who has created captivating illustrations for a number of fairytale books, including Little Women, Swan Lake, and The Little Prince. Kim uses her dreamy watercolour style to create fascinating fairies and forest creatures for this magical wonderland.
The Garden Court of Pacific Place will play host to the Fairy Light Forest, where there will be a lightshow filled with music and twinkling light displays in a magical forest. A pine forest, giant flowers, luminous mushrooms and welcoming forest animals make this an enchanting experience.
On Level L1, there is a Christmas Wish Cavern that lets you meander through lush gardens, where you’ll encounter an array of dancing fairies. Don’t forget to share your wish with the fairies, who just might make it come true. On the same level, Santa’s Grove can be found in the form of a beautiful conservatory filled with lights, flowers and warmth. The conservatory makes for a gorgeous backdrop for some memorable photos for sure.
Other highlights to be found on Level L1 include Gifts of the Forest, a workshop space decorated with Christmas trees, glittering lights and a giant wreath featuring a fairy. After that, wander over to Fairy Lake where a little boat awaits to take you on a magical ride surrounded by twinkling Christmas trees adorned with beautiful decorations.
Nearby at Starstreet Precinct, magic continues to be found at every corner. Here, there will be glowing glasshouses filled with festive decorations and fairy dust. Visitors can step in for a festive photo or snap pics of the colourful giant flowers, bright lights and dancing fairies.
No festival is complete without some mesmerising performances. Local dance group ChestRoll will take to the stage on 2, 9, 16, 23, 25, and 26 December for shows at Garden Court on 3pm and 5pm for the dates listed. On Christmas Eve, the Hong Kong Philharmonic Orchestra will pop in at Park Court for a couple of afternoon performances (start times 12:30pm and 1:20pm).
