#legend100does: Hot happenings in April 2024

We’ve asked our community for the hottest events they’ve marked down in their diaries this month. Be it art, food or entertainment, our plugged-in friends know what’s most happening

“My highlight of April will definitely be the Rugby Sevens. The rugby aside, there’s going to be a whole lot of vibes, like a carnival! Cathay Pacific is sponsoring the event this year, and you’ll find things can get pretty interesting when an airline and rugby come together in a world-class international event like this.”

“As April arrives, spring becomes a moment to reflect on the past and embrace new beginnings. Life is all about experiencing. Kinsman is a cocktail bar that transports you to the world of Wong Kar-wai’s In the Mood for Love. Lose yourself in the nostalgic embrace of old Hong Kong, where every corner exudes a magnetic charm, inviting you to create unforgettable memories with cherished friends or kindle romance in the air. Luk Yu Tea House is another portal to old Hong Kong. Here, yum cha becomes an art form, celebrating culinary mastery and cultural heritage. As you sip tea and savour delicate dim sum, a profound connection to Hong Kong’s rich tapestry of the past envelops you. Lastly, Spirit Bookstore, my favourite secondhand bookstore in the city, is a sanctuary that nourishes the soul and ignites the imagination. Upon entering, you’re transported to a realm where books come alive, embracing you with their wisdom, tales and inspiration. It’s more than a bookstore; it’s a haven for curious minds and beautiful souls. Serendipity awaits as you explore these vast treasures, with each page holding the power to transport you to distant lands or unlock the universe’s secrets.”

“I live part-time between Hong Kong and Australia now, so being back this time of year is perfect because there’s so much going on! Apart from catching up with my amazing friends and work partners in town, of course I took the chance to soak in all the creative energy and fun afterparties Art Month delivered, which was just the warm-up I needed for April. After missing the Rugby Sevens last year, I can’t wait to be in Hong Kong Stadium and embrace the incredible atmosphere of the Sevens crowd. Being in Australia has taught me a lot about this game and I’m so excited to be able to watch the match like a pro this year! Creamfields is also just around the corner and I’m looking forward to having a phenomenal time partying with my friends under the stunning Central skyline. It’s exactly what I’ve been craving after living in peace and quiet on the other side of the world. If you’re a foodie like me, you will love the new Izakaya Night skewers menu at one of my all-time fave spots – Zuma. It’s insanely good value, featuring five of their most iconic skewers and 1.5 hours of unlimited sake, beer and highballs! You’ll be sure to catch me there during happy hour every Monday to Wednesday. I’m also in the middle of exploring the possibility of starting my own brand or collaboration (hint: something extra sparkly). This is truly a month that’s full of magic. Wish me luck and stay tuned! xx”
