Hong Kong gets its first igloo invasion

The igloos at Igloo have a stunning vantage point over Repulse Bay

Missing the white Christmases of home, or just yearning for something a bit more festive than tinsel-lined malls? Check out Hong Kong’s newest restaurant, Igloo, at the top of The Pulse.

The entirely Christmas-themed restaurant is bringing a touch of hygge to Hong Kong and proving that not even a tropical climate can stop festive cheer. Dine in cosy, igloo-inspired domes (complete with fur-topped chairs), and enjoy Christmas decorations and artificial snow galore. The pods are made of clear plastic, so you can still enjoy the amazing view over Repulse Bay.

The cosiest restaurant in Hong Kong by far

The concept isn’t new by any means – igloos like these have been popping up around the world for years, most notably in London and New York, but this is the first time they’re coming to Hong Kong.

Book in for Afternoon Tea or a special dinner menu

The menu will change regularly, as guest-chefs are invited to design their own offerings. It’s inaugural menus include an afternoon tea set by Royal Catering Limited and a fusion dinner selection by Roni, the chef behind Walled City international. As a special holiday gift, every guest will receive a complimentary movie pass for Emperor Cinema in Central, and- if you’re coming by car –  complimentary valet parking. That by itself is a Christmas miracle.

Afternoon tea is served from 2:30-5:30pm, and dinner is available from 6:00-10pm. Reservations are a must.
