One of Hong Kong's biggest art fairs and events of the year, Affordable Art Fair will continue their mission to help democratise art and make it accessible to all with its sixth edition in Hong Kong from 18-20 May 2018. With artworks ranging between HK$1,000 and HK$100,000, the fair will showcase over 115 local and international galleries with pieces everyone can fall in love with (and take home).
With everything from abstract works and sculptures to installations and photography, the fair has a little something to suit a wide variety of spaces, tastes and budgets and offers visitors the opportunity to interact and engage with art in a fun way.
This year, Affordable Art Fair Hong Kong will be hosting their first #ForArtsSake Friday charity evening on 18th May from 6pm to 10pm in support of the Sovereign Art Foundation and local charity Joyful (Mental Health) Foundation and will also be introducing how art therapy can greatly improve a person's physical, mental and emotional well-being. Highlights include artists Gabriel Moreno, Natasha Barnes, Jody, David Hinchliffe and Wong Ting Fun, who will create works on-site to raise money for the charities, Sergei Rozhnov who will do a live speed yoga-inspired life-drawing as well as several other dance performance throughout the night.
Emerging Hong Kong artist Vanessa Wong (check out her inspiration and musing on arts in our latest photoshoot) has also created a special tote bag featuring her artwork 'Playground' available to purchase throughout the fair with 100 per cent of the proceeds going towards Sovereign Art Foundation and Joyful (Mental Health) Foundation.
