Music Festival returns to Happy Valley Racecourse this June and July

A musical celebration to remember: Happy Wednesday’s Music Festival on June 26, July 4 and 10 at the Happy Valley Racecourse promises electrifying performances and nostalgia-fueled fun.

Amidst the scorching summer heat, the Happy Valley Racecourse beckons with exhilarating world-class horse racing. The thundering hooves, adrenaline-pumping races, and electrifying atmosphere create unparalleled excitement that grips all visitors. The unique trackside experience adds another layer of allure to the festivities, allowing you to immerse yourself in the vibrant ambience and witness the spectacle up close. The combination of musical diversity and heart-pounding action of horse racing makes the Happy Wednesday Music Festival an extraordinary event that promises unforgettable memories and a fusion of entertainment like no other.

The racecourse will don a Y2K-inspired aesthetic, with neon LEDs, magic cubes, and cassette players providing the perfect backdrop for the stellar musical lineup.

The energy levels are set to reach new heights on June 26th, as electronic music maestro DJ Shyne takes the decks, accompanied by a live drummer and saxophonist. The Afroseas, Hong Kong’s premier Afrobeat ensemble, will take the stage on July 4th, paying tribute to the soulful genre and engaging in an exciting battle performance featuring renowned Beatboxer Heartgrey, dance phenomenon Anisha Thai, a TVB dance competition “Dance For Life” winner, and a champion breakdancer.

The festival fever reaches its climax on July 10th, as the Happy Valley finale will feature a lively atmosphere, with performances by More of Us and DJ Shyne to energise the festival. Samba dancers and Batucada will not only be bringing their energy on stage but through the Beer Garden by interacting with the crowd.

Additionally, a Champion Quiz will be held, offering the chance to win a unique experience to visit the hero horses at the stables. To wrap up the successful season, a Jockey’s Parade on the turf will take place, where jockeys will distribute limited edition hero horse plush toys and high-five with racing fans to show their appreciation for the public’s support.

In between the lively performances, festival-goers can indulge in a culinary journey, with the beer garden’s iconic food trucks serving up a tantalising array of dishes, including Japanese cold soba with shrimp, Thai sirloin salad taco, and Spanish garlic and chilli prawns. And to keep the party going, frozen cocktails and other refreshing beverages will be available to quench the thirst of those who dare to dance the night away.

As the racing season comes to a close, the festival promises to deliver a truly global and nostalgic celebration of music, food, and unforgettable memories. It’s an opportunity not to be missed for those seeking to immerse themselves in a vibrant and electrifying summer experience.
