Cover Story: A Journey Through Talent and Charm with Sarocha Chankimha

Freen Sarocha Chankimha, a rising Thai actress who has ignited a new wave of Girl's Love series within the Thai entertainment industry. Each role she embraces serves as a valuable lesson, nurturing her growth and evolution as an actress and enhancing while solidifying her presence in the industry.

“Reflecting on my past roles, I hold a genuine affection for each character I’ve had the privilege to portray. In my last three series, every character presents their own complexities, layers, and backstories, which has deepened my appreciation for the distinctiveness of each role. When I first ventured into acting, I was filled with anxiety and had to invest considerable effort to breathe life into those characters. While I still experience that thrill today, I’ve learned how to channel it more effectively. Gradually, I find myself learning from each character, and with every scene, I evolve alongside them."

From Freen's perspective, Girl’s Love series offer more than just entertainment; they also represent love in a new light, fostering support and understanding.

"I believe it’s truly wonderful to be part of a pioneering couple in a full-length Girl’s Love series. As we embarked on this journey, it has sparked greater interest from producers in this genre, marking a significant shift in representation of love that is genuinely beautiful. For me, it’s a natural aspect of life because love like this exists everywhere; it simply hasn’t been portrayed in series before. As more people engage with this narrative and audiences expand, we foster greater understanding and acceptance around it. I firmly believe this contributes to making our society a more welcoming space."

The immense success she enjoys today is supported by a devoted group of fans who have been with her throughout her journey. What began with just 6 or 7 individuals has blossomed into a fanbase that wholeheartedly supports her in countless ways.

"My fans are a genuine source of love and support for me. They form a group of individuals who wholeheartedly back me in every aspect of my career. I don’t have to be perfect or exceptionally talented; they are always there to stand by my side and cheer me on, affirming how great I am. There have been times when I’ve had to attend multiple events in succession, and they consistently send me encouragement on X (Twitter) and Instagram, checking in to see if I’m tired from work that morning. Just knowing they’re there, rooting for me, is incredibly up-lifting. On the flip side, when I sense they might be feeling down, I always make it a priority to send them a broadcast message or repost uplifting content."

For Freen, her #legend isn’t someone distant, but rather the actor she has worked closely with, Mario Maurer. She admires him not only as an actor but also as a remarkable human being.

"Mario Maurer is someone I hold in deep admiration. He has been in the industry for many years and has managed to preserve his essence throughout. From my very first day in this field to now, he still appears unchanged. His talent is remarkable; he seamlessly transforms into different characters both on and off screen. Beyond being a consummate professional, he is also incredibly kind and genuine. I view him as a true idol and aspire to be like him, hoping that those who meet me will feel the same way I feel about him. I truly respect him as both an actor and a brotherly figure."
