Watches and Wonders 2023: Montblanc brings ice and stars to the mix

Montblanc brought out a number of limited edition pieces to its showcase at Watches and Wonders 2023 in Geneva. Here are some of our favourites from the German luxury goods maker

1858 Iced Sea Automatic Date

The new dial colour is inspired by the hues of one of the Mont Blanc mountain’s largest glaciers – the Mer de Glace. Montblanc used a special technique known as gratté-boisé to create the dial base that gives it a sense of depth and luminosity. We’ve covered this beauty recently, so read all about it here.

1858 Geosphere Chronograph 0 Oxygen The 8000 (Limited Edition)

Limited to just 290 pieces, the timepiece features a 44mm titanium case totally devoid of oxygen. This eliminates fogging and preventing oxidization, thus allowing the movement to last far longer with greater precision. A must for every explorer.

1858 The Unveiled Secret Minerva Monopusher Chronograph (Limited Edition)

This limited edition of 88 pieces comes in a 43mm distressed stainless steel case with a white gold fluted bezel and features a black nubuck alligator strap with a distressed steel triple-folding clasp. It offers a full view of the Maison’s iconic MB M16.29 calibre that has been reversed so you can fully enjoy the chronograph movement and its magic.

Star Legacy Grey Moonphase Limited Edition of 1786 (Limited Edition)

Available in a run of 1786 pieces, the timepiece comes in a 42mm stainless steel case that highlights a new facet of the Mont Blanc – its south-facing rocky side where the snow has difficulty to settle on its vertical face.
