This legendary Gilded Age mansion is famous for its private art collection. It served as the perfect setting for artistic director Nicolas Ghesquière, who loves blending architectural structure with fine French craftsmanship. For his second-ever Cruise show, Ghesquière used the museum’s historic salons to explore the beautiful contradictions of the city, bringing a brilliant mix of Paris sophistication and New York attitude to the runway.

The looks

The biggest talking point of the night was the fusion of high-fashion luxury and 1980s pop culture. Ghesquière’s creative spark for the collection came from a rare archive find: a 1930s Louis Vuitton suitcase that had been hand-painted by pop art legend Keith Haring in 1984. This historic piece opened the show, setting off a wave of vibrant colour therapy throughout the entire collection.

Haring’s iconic graffiti art, including his famous dancing figures, barking dogs, and radiant babies has splashed across everything from tops to jackets. Ghesquière effortlessly blended these playful, downtown street vibes with classic uptown staples, reinterpreting American wardrobe essentials like denim, workwear, and knitwear into bold, high-fashion statements.

The runway was filled with high-energy silhouettes and rich contrasts. Outfits featured voluminous shapes, ruffles, and floral patterns that gave off a deeply relaxed yet artistic summer vibe. Ghesquière even extended the bold colour palette to the models’ hair, adding an extra layer of playful pop-culture rhythm to the show.

The accessories and bags

The accessories and bags were equally collectible, boasting a fun sense of playfulness. New bag shapes included miniature versions of the iconic Haring-tagged suitcase, alongside playful shaped bags.

The celebrities

The star-studded guest list completely matched the grand energy of the Fifth Avenue venue. Stray Kids member Felix made a major statement on arrival. Fresh off the Cannes red carpet, Cate Blanchett and Hoyeon Jung arrived to support the brand. Global icons Emma Stone, Anne Hathaway, Emily Blunt, Zendaya, Liu Yifei, and more.
