“…Creations from Boucheron under the direction of Claire Choisne have always carried a sense of quiet intrigue. There is a delicacy to her approach, yet also an instinct for surprise that continuously pushes the maison’s heritage into new territory while remaining deeply respectful of its roots.

With Histoire de Style 2026, ‘Nom: Boucheron Prénom: Frédéric’, that dialogue between past and present feels more intimate than ever. The collection revisits the spirit of Frédéric Boucheron through high jewellery creations rich in story and emotion, now sharpened through a contemporary point of view while preserving the essence of the originals.…”

For this latest chapter, Claire Choisne reimagines a series of iconic creations first conceived by Frédéric Boucheron in the late nineteenth century. Each piece quietly reflects the founder’s life and singular vision, from his upbringing as the son of a draper to his decision to leave behind the family business and establish his own jewellery maison in 1858 at Place Vendôme. Choosing the corner of rue de la Paix for his first boutique, he became the first jeweller to establish himself on Place Vendôme, forever changing the landscape of Parisian high jewellery.

เFrédéric Boucheron possessed a vision that felt radically modern for its time, particularly in the way he approached the relationship between jewellery and the body. His creations were never simply ornamental. They were designed to move naturally with the wearer, often introducing entirely new ways of dressing the body in jewels. Even his nature-inspired motifs carried a striking sense of structure and modernity. It was this distinctive perspective that made Boucheron beloved among royalty, artists, aristocrats, and film stars for generations.

For Histoire de Style 2026, Claire Choisne revisits four of his most iconic creations, refining their lines and amplifying their presence through a sharper contemporary lens.

The Address

The Address necklace, crafted in white gold and centred around a 10.01-carat emerald-cut diamond, draws from an archival design dating back to 1839. Its octagonal silhouette echoes the geometry of Place Vendôme when viewed from above. The pendant unfolds with architectural precision, framed by diamonds arranged like the paving stones of Paris and outlined with deep black lacquer that lends the piece a graphic intensity. Along the neckline, baguette-cut diamonds bring fluid elegance, while the central diamond can be detached and worn as a ring. The creation required more than 1,107 hours of craftsmanship to complete.

The Spark

The Spark pays tribute to Frédéric Boucheron’s legendary Question Mark Necklace, designed during a period when fashion was beginning to free women from the restrictions of corsetry. Frédéric responded by creating jewellery that felt equally liberating to wear. Defined by its asymmetric curved silhouette and concealed spring mechanism, the original design slipped effortlessly around the neck. In this new interpretation, Claire Choisne reimagines its graceful movement through a composition of eight different diamond cuts that flow seamlessly along the necklace’s sculptural curve.

The Silhouette

Equally striking is The Silhouette, a creation that reflects both Frédéric’s fascination with textiles and the remarkable savoir-faire of Boucheron’s artisans. Extending over seven metres in length, the piece is composed of more than 2,500 diamond-set beads and transforms into six different styles of wear—from necklaces and chokers to bracelets and epaulette-inspired brooches. The choker itself is set with hundreds of baguette-cut diamonds, while an intricate system of hidden clasps allows each element to shift effortlessly between forms. The result feels opulent yet fluid, balancing technical mastery with sensual movement.

The Untamed

The collection concludes with The Untamed Necklace, a dramatic Question Mark necklace inspired by Frédéric’s fascination with ivy, a plant once dismissed as little more than a wild weed and rarely embraced within jewellery design at the time. Crafted in white gold and diamonds, the necklace extends from the neck down the body with remarkable fluidity. Tender unfurling leaves, hidden berries, and en tremblant settings create a sense of movement so delicate the piece appears almost alive. Designed to transform into a choker, hair jewel, ring, or brooch, it captures the freedom and daring spirit that have always defined Boucheron.

Every creation within the collection remains rooted in the values Frédéric Boucheron established from the beginning: freedom, audacity, and a vision far ahead of its time. Through her contemporary interpretations, Claire Choisne continues that spirit with remarkable clarity, merging the maison’s heritage with her own sharp and unmistakably modern design language while preserving the refinement and artistry woven into every detail.
