“…Thailand continues to emerge as a key destination for the world’s leading watch and jewellery houses looking to strengthen their presence in Southeast Asia. The latest to join the landscape is Buccellati, the storied Italian Maison founded by Mario Buccellati in 1919.

More than a century later, the House has unveiled its first boutique in Thailand at Siam Paragon, which also marks its largest boutique in the Asia-Pacific region to date. The opening underscores Buccellati’s commitment to bringing its distinctive Italian artistry and heritage closer to collectors and connoisseurs across the region.…”

Stepping inside, visitors are transported into a world shaped by history and craftsmanship. Framed by gilded wooden display cases, the boutique unfolds through hand-crafted Italian stucco work, carved wood panelling and elegant flooring reminiscent of grand European palaces, creating an atmosphere of understated refinement.

Enhancing the experience is an exceptional collection of antique furnishings dating from the 18th and 19th centuries, from gold-leaf mirrors to carved giltwood consoles topped with marble slabs. Among the highlights are two exceptionally rare mirrors from 16th-century Naples, intricately carved and finished using the traditional doratura a mecca gilding technique, lending the space an added sense of timeless Italian elegance.

At the heart of Buccellati lies a century-old tradition of craftsmanship passed down through generations. Few collections embody this spirit better than Macri, distinguished by its signature Rigato engraving. Rooted in the artistic traditions of the Italian Renaissance, the hand-engraving technique creates softly undulating gold surfaces illuminated by brilliant-cut diamonds set within tiny star-shaped rosettes. Conceived by second-generation heir Gianmaria Buccellati, the collection was named after his daughter Maria Cristina, for whom the jewels were originally designed.

Another enduring icon is Opera, where the Maison’s signature logo motif is reinterpreted into graceful floral forms inspired by Renaissance art. Defined by a sense of harmony and balance, the collection brings together gold and gemstones in compositions that feel both refined and unmistakably Buccellati.

Equally captivating is Tulle, one of the House’s most technically demanding creations. Inspired by the delicate beauty of lacework that first fascinated Mario Buccellati, the technique transforms gold into intricate honeycomb structures of extraordinary lightness. Each piece requires nearly a month of painstaking work, as goldsmiths hand-pierce sheets of gold just half a millimetre thick to create countless microscopic hexagonal cells, resulting in jewels that appear almost weightless.

Beyond its jewellery creations, the Siam Paragon boutique also presents Buccellati’s celebrated silverware, tableware and decorative objects crafted in silver, ceramic and glass. Together, they offer a glimpse into the Maison’s rich artistic legacy and the exceptional savoir-faire that has made Buccellati one of Italy’s most admired luxury Houses for more than a century.
