#obsessed: Top picks from Bape Gallery, Omega x Swatch, Clot x Crocs, and more

This month, #legend is #obsessed with the latest from Bape Gallery, Omega x Swatch, Clot x Crocs, Ex Nihilo, Zaha Hadid Design, and David Zwirner Hong Kong

Street art

To celebrate its participation in ComplexCon Hong Kong 2024, Bape Gallery invited six up-and-coming and established artists from around the world to create 25 unique artworks and three giant sculptures that highlight the monumental influence of the brand as a cultural mainstay. Arkiv Vilmansa from Indonesia, M’BricK from France, Oso de Agua from Peru, Simone Legno from Italy, Stash from the US and Tomotatsu Gima from Japan drew inspiration from the classic camouflage pattern, iconic Ape Head logo, footwear Bape Sta and Bape Shark Sta to create a visual story of Bape’s impact on fashion, art, street culture and more.

To the moon and back

Two years after the launch of the Omega x Swatch collaboration, the Bioceramic MoonSwatch Mission to the Moonphase has landed. The new, non-limited watch not only depicts the planets but also combines a chronograph and moonphase function for the first time in Swatch history. In a nod to the Omega brand, which was awarded the prestigious Silver Snoopy Award in 1970 by NASA for its role in the history of space exploration, the all-white Bioceramic MoonSwatch Mission to the Moonphase features Snoopy on the moonphase disc and a hidden quote from the comic strip that can be seen under UV light.

Fresh pair

Combining an utterly distinctive design DNA with the world’s most iconic love-it-or- hate-it shoe, the Clot x Crocs Classic Clog is being hailed as a pioneering collaboration that will speak to global citizens of today. It features Clot’s signature Alienegra camo print – previously spotted in collaborations with Vans, Adidas, Head Porter and Kaws – printed with reflective brush strokes in tonal colourways of Mauve Mist, Black or Aloe. Outfitting the clogs are a variety of limited-edition Jibbitz charms, ranging from alien ears and UFOs to nostalgic sweet pineapple buns and mooncakes, for customising to each wearer’s unique style.

Scent of a city

Parisian fragrance house Ex Nihilo, which was founded in 2013 as an alternative to stereotyped luxury products and mass personalisation, has added a new eau de parfum to its East-meets-West Babylone Collection. Chandigarh Express, inspired by the utopian dream of French architect Le Corbusier, is a journey through secular traditions and modernity with a wide palette of exotic colours, textures and smells from cardamom and jasmine to patchouli, vetiver and benzoin. It pays homage to the avant-garde spirit of the northern Indian city that was reinvented from scratch in the 1950s, mixing European flair with Indian know-how.

Peak performance

The first-ever collaboration of Zaha Hadid Design with a Hong Kong cultural institution, the M+ x Zaha Hadid Design Special Collection features 12 limited-edition lifestyle pieces inspired by the late British-Iraqi architect’s winning entry for The Peak Leisure Club – a breakthrough project and her first to gain widespread recognition. It is being presented as a pop-up at The M+ Shop inside the museum and includes a range of fine China dinnerware in a remastered version of the ZHD classic “Beam” collection, signature silk kimono, luxury carpets, showpiece lenticular posters, collectible enamel pins, and T-shirts and tote bags.

Making a point

For his second solo exhibition at David Zwirner Hong Kong, German photographer Wolfgang Tillmans depicts changing forms of atmosphere and elusive natural phenomena, explores notions of time and temporality, and presents images that engage with his expansive conceptions of the still life and the portrait. Wolfgang Tillmans: The Point Is Matter is also punctuated with works made in Addis Ababa, Berlin, Lagos, Mongolia, Hong Kong and Shenzhen, sensitively invoking resonant associations between the local and the world at large, while advocating for an experience ofconnectedness that is rooted in the process of looking.
