Weekend Max Mara is celebrating the upcoming 10th anniversary of its iconic Pasticcino Bag with the launch of “Italian Roots,” the latest chapter of its Pasticcino Bag World Tour project. As the fifth edition of the series, the collection returns to where it all began, paying tribute to Italy’s artistic heritage and generations of craftsmanship

At the heart of the collection are six numbered special-edition Pasticcino Bags crafted from luxurious jacquard fabrics by Fondazione Arte della Seta Lisio, the historic Florentine weaving mill founded in 1906. Inspired by Tuscany’s architectural beauty, the fabrics reinterpret decorative motifs, marble patterns, Renaissance colour palettes and geometric details found throughout the region’s historic monuments and palazzos.
Designs range from marble-inspired wave patterns and bold stripes reminiscent of façades and columns to Renaissance-pink jacquards, graphic square motifs echoing coffered ceilings and classic black-and-white geometric polka dots.

Another defining feature is the collection’s signature spherical clasp, developed in collaboration with Budri, the renowned Italian Haute Couture Marble Atelier. Crafted from some of Italy’s most prized marbles – including Calacatta Belgia, Bardiglio Carrara, Nero di Ormea, Portoro Extra and Issogne – each clasp showcases the artisanal expertise behind the project. Selected large and medium bags also feature marble inserts along the closure trim, adding another distinctive touch.

To celebrate the launch, Weekend Max Mara hosted a two-day experience in Florence, bringing together a curated group of international actresses, models, influencers and content creators. Through visits to some of the city’s most significant cultural and artisanal landmarks, guests were immersed in the inspiration behind the collection and the heritage that shaped it.
Attendees included Italian actresses Alessandra Mastronardi and Valentina Romani, Spanish actress Nicole Wallace, American actress Liza Koshy, Chinese actress Wu Xin, Korean digital influencer Hazel Choi and international model Sara Sampaio, all gathered to celebrate the Pasticcino Bag’s journey and its Italian roots.
