Dior unveils Dior Lady Art, a book celebrating ten years of artistic collaboration and creativity through the Maison’s ongoing Dior Lady Art project. Now marking its tenth edition, the project brings together ten contemporary artists to reinterpret and celebrate one of the House’s most iconic creations — the Lady Dior bag.

First introduced in 1995 and named in honor of Princess Diana, the Lady Dior embodies the timeless elegance and architectural precision that define the Dior aesthetic. Its clean lines and meticulous craftsmanship reflect Christian Dior’s enduring fascination with architecture — a passion he pursued before dedicating himself fully to fashion.
In 2016, Dior extended the legacy of its beloved bag with the launch of the Dior Lady Art project, inviting artists from around the world to transform the Lady Dior into a contemporary art piece. Each bag serves as a unique canvas for artistic expression, where every creator brings forth their own vision through distinct techniques, materials, and concepts. To date, more than 99 artists have contributed to the series, resulting in over 270 extraordinary works that merge craftsmanship and creativity.

The initiative also echoes the artistic spirit of Christian Dior himself — once a gallery owner and art collector who showcased the works of legendary artists such as Salvador Dalí, Max Ernst, and Man Ray. His belief that imagination should flow freely and that fashion could serve as a meeting ground for all art forms continues to inspire the Maison today.
Through Dior Lady Art, the emblematic Lady Dior transcends its status as a fashion icon to become a true work of art — one that seamlessly unites the worlds of Art and Couture. Featured collaborators across the project include Judy Chicago, Jeffrey Gibson, Gilbert & George, Zhang Huan, Eva Jospin, Marc Quinn, Faith Ringgold, Raqib Shaw, Mickalene Thomas, and Joana Vasconcelos.
