Grab the tissues folks and hide the kids, we’ve got bad news. Colette, Paris’ most beloved boutique, is closing its doors. The iconic, three-storey location on Rue Saint Honoré will be taken over by Saint Laurent, Business of Fashion has just reported.

Devotees of the brand, a favourite amongst fashion’s mega-elite, will remember the 2013 controversy between the two brands, when Colette stocked a number of tongue-in-cheek ‘Ain’t Laurent Without Yves’ t-shirts. The back-lash was swift and immense, but the proverbial hatchet was buried this February. In a shocking move, the store unveiled two Yves Saint Laurent window displays, signalling the official reconciliation with the fashion house. In hindsight, perhaps that was an early indicator of today’s shocking news.

After 20 years of operation, the shop will finally close on December 20, so book your holiday time off now to go visit while you still can. Find out all the details over at Business of Fashion.
