It was just announced that Riccardo Tisci has been named Chief Creative Officer of Burberry, following Christopher Bailey’s last collection for the British luxury brand. Bailey announced last year that he would be stepping down from his position as CCO, having once also served as CEO of the label. Tisci was previously Creative Director of Givenchy, overseeing its women’s haute couture and ready-to-wear lines before he stepped down in 2017. Tisci is also known for his ongoing collaboration with Nike, creating collections of sportswear and shoes featuring his own aesthetic.
It hasn’t been announced yet when Tisci will be starting his role at Burberry, or when his first collection will be. But it’s expected to be for the 2019 spring/summer season. Stay tuned for more details.
