The Upper House offers a diverse range of wellness experiences in the lead-up to Global Wellness Day this month. Based on the philosophy of bringing together health and luxury hospitality under one roof, their programme “Good Yoga” provides fundamental yoga poses that make up an integral part of the practice.

Novices and veteran practitioners alike can benefit from these sessions. Yoga enthusiasts can expect a proper workout and deepened understanding of the impact of yoga poses. The 60-minute drop-in group classes are priced at HK$350 per person per session.

Mandarin Oriental

The Spas at Mandarin Oriental honour Global Wellness Day 2022 with the “Intelligent Movement” launch. This innovative wellness programme bridges the gap between spas and fitness centres. Intelligent Movement supports guests whose posture and mobility are compromised by a tech-driven lifestyle. Which leads to a head-forward posture, internally rotated shoulders, anterior pelvic tilt, and tight hamstrings.

After the treatment, guests receive a tip card so they may continue the programme at home with mobility exercises for both the upper and lower body to help combat postural issues and improve flexibility.

Yoga lovers can enjoy it in two ways – personal training and group classes. In addition, the health Club Bar is there to enjoy fresh smoothies and snacks to keep you energised after a workout.

Flowga is Hong Kong’s first infrared heating yoga studio that opened in early 2020. Like its name, hot yoga is a vigorous form of yoga performed in a hot and humid studio. Being a candlelit yoga studio, Flowga uses state-of-the-art infrared technology for heating (35 to 40°C).

All classes are 60 minutes long, with five different types of courses for you to choose from. By adding more challenging poses, yoga practitioners can dig deeper and let themselves go.

Located in the heart of Wan Chai, a boutique yoga studio, Yoga Aloha, can hold up to 14 mats in each class. It offers in effect a small class size that ensures individual attention. It also provides a peaceful space for beginners to start their yoga journey and for intermediate students to enjoy more personalised attention.

Following the meaning of its name – the joyful sharing of life energy in the present – it is a carefree space that allows this sharing to happen and seeks to create a community that cultivates love and peace.
