Hong Kong has just experienced its most deadly city fire since World War II, with 44 confirmed deceased and hundreds still missing as of press time. Over 750 firefighters were deployed to Tai Po estate, where a blaze razed through seven buildings.

Volunteer with the Tai Po District Office
The Tai Po District Office has set up a help desk at Alice Ho Miu Ling Nethersole Hospital for assistance and public enquiries. The hotline number is 26584040.
Send funds to the Hong Kong Red Cross

The Hong Kong Red Cross is accepting donations for its efforts. The designated donation period is from now until December 10, 2025. Tap here for their online donation channel, or go to their Alipay Hong Kong and PayMe directly. The FPS Hong Kong Red Cross Identifier: 164279317

Pass items to The Salvation Army Hong Kong

The Salvation Army Recycling Program has sent adults and children winter clothes, socks, slippers, shoes, etc. to its two centres opened for residents affected by the fire at The Salvation Army Tai Po Youth Integrated Service and The Salvation Army Tai Po Elderly Community Service Centre. Item donations are welcome.
Donate blood with the Hospital Authority
The Hong Kong Hospital Authority is accepting blood donations. There is a blood donation vehicle at 48, Tai Po Tai Wo Road, Tai Po. If you can’t make it there, tap here to arrange a donation session with the Hong Kong Red Cross Blood Transfusion Service.
Provide food items to Feeding HK
Feeding HK are putting together care packs of shelf stable food packs – rice, canned food, oil, condiments etc. Check their website to learn more about their efforts and their community collection points.
Where to seek help
Shelter
For residents affected by the fire, temporary shelters have been opened at the following locations:
- Kwong Fuk Community Hall (Kwong Fuk Estate, Tai Po)
- Tung Cheong Street Community Hall (1/F, Tai Po Tung Cheong Street Leisure Building, 25 Tung Cheong Street, Tai Po)
- CCC Fung Leung Kit Memorial Secondary School is also open to accommodate evacuated residents
- The Salvation Army Tai Po Youth Integrated Services (Room 301, 306, 3/F, Tai Man House, Tai Yuen Estate, Tai Po) affords a place where victims can take a break. For enquiries, call 26672913.
- The Salvation Army Tai Po Elderly Community Service Centre will be, providing overnight care to elderly people in need and supporting caregivers. Those in need can visit or call the centre (Address: 2nd floor, Tai Po Community Centre, 2 Rural Society Street, Tai Po; Tel: 26536811)
- Impact HK is offering emergency accommodation in their Prince Edward hostel for those in need. Please call 53416670 or WhatsApp 59437124
Mental health resources
For anyone else that might require mental health support, the Hong Kong Red Cross line will be open and the number to call is 51645040. Service hours for the next two days are November 27 (00:00 – 22:00) and November 28: 10:00 – 22:00).
