K11 Musea, Hong Kong’s Silicon Valley of Culture, has been all the hype since its official opening in August 2019. Amongst its mélange of pioneering tenants is Breitling, which launched its new concept boutique at the cultural-retail landmark. In line with its modern vision, the boutique’s design concept is a contemporary urban interpretation of a chic industrial loft in modern retro style. Along with modern elements, the store features nautical and aviation motifs to celebrate Breitling’s rich heritage and inspirations from the sea, land and air.

The launch of the boutique is part of Breitling’s global pursuit to bring a recreational aspect to the customer’s traditional shopping experience. To mark this special occasion, the Superocean Heritage Ocean Conservancy Limited Edition is made exclusively available at the K11 Musea Boutique. Born out of the collaboration between the brand and the Ocean Conservancy, the limited-edition watch is presented with a pair of Nato straps made of repurposed nylon waste, one source of which is fishing nets from oceans around the world.

To celebrate the new boutique, Breitling worked with 10 Hong Kong influencers who are making waves in their respective fields. While they were checking out the boutique and trying on the Ocean Conservancy watch, we had some juicy conversations with each influencer about everything from their special #squads to the eras they would time travel to!

Charles Lam

Can you describe a time when you have achieved a goal or created something special with a squad?

Co-writing my first book ‘Behind The Scene’ with Anjaylia Chan is always a significant moment in my career. We went to the desert for our cover shoot on our own cost and not counting on how much money we make but to fulfill our dreams, as I said in one of the chapters, “to #provethemwrong “.

If you could time travel to a period in the past or future, which era would you visit and why?

I would travel to the future and visit my future self. I am curious about the future and want to see how I am doing in the future. I used to see my future in my dreams and they started to become reality, and I want to prove it again that dreams are never too big if we are willing to chase them.

Elly Lam

Can you describe a time when you have achieved a goal or created something special with a squad?

First and foremost, we seek what our heart desires – food, which is always the answer. You can always dine out but actually finding recipes that tickle our fancy, gathering and hunting the freshest (or most exotic) ingredients & successfully cooking up an entire feast is not only an excellent bonding moment but also a great learning experience together. It is nourishing not only to the body, but to the soul. And what’s even better than that – a travel foodie trip together. We get to escape the normality of day-to-day life and it creates life long memories as we globe trot the world! 

If you could time travel to a period in the past or future, which era would you visit and why?

To be able to travel 100 years into the future to the year 2119 would be absolutely mind blowing. The things I’ll have the opportunity to unearth from various realms and locations, and in turn, bring back with me. The advancement in technology we’d have, but also practices we use to disconnect and unwind; the knowledge and philosophies on life, happiness and fulfilment we’ll have learned, the way our present era will look through the clarity of 100 years hindsight. Last but not least – I’ll get to see how we’ve taken steps to handle adamant issues like global warming and whether we’ve found cures for diseases humanity has been tackling with for generations.

Can you describe a time when you have achieved a goal or created something special with a squad?

When we reached 1 million subscribers on Youtube as a #femily, thanks to each of their love and support through ups and downs in the past 2 years – they made our dreams come true in a way that we never thought was possible.

If you could time travel to a period in the past or future, which era would you visit and why?

I would like to travel to sometime in the not so distant future to find out how social media has evolved and its impacts on our lives.

Irisa Wong

Can you describe a time when you have achieved a goal or created something special with a squad?

Every time I do a photoshoot, I try to finish as early as possible (before the allocated end time) so the whole team can have an early finish. But of course, it takes the whole team’s hard work and effort to be able to do that. I’ve achieved that goal a few times.

If you could time travel to a period in the past or future, which era would you visit and why?

I would like to travel back in time when technology wasn’t such a big part of our lives. I would want to live in that time just to see what life would be like without all the technology we have today and just really live in every moment.

Ivan Lui

Can you describe a time when you have achieved a goal or created something special with a squad?

Life was meant for good friends and great adventures. Everyone in our squad has busy schedules but we try to hit up as many places around the world together each year as bonding time. Friends that travel together, stay together.

If you could time travel to a period in the past or future, which era would you visit and why?

The Qing Dynasty because it was characterised by an astounding wealth and fashion.

James Wong

Can you describe a time when you have achieved a goal or created something special with a squad?

There was a time when me and my closest friends just from graduated university and we were kind of ‘lost’ for a while. We all ended up having different career paths, even live in different continents of the world. But every time we see each other we can still reminisce of old times.

If you could time travel to a period in the past or future, which era would you visit and why?

I would really want to visit the 1970s, because that was the era where my parents are at their prime. I would want to understand things from their point of view. Also, technology was not as advanced as now meaning back then people were more connected.

Jenn Lam

Can you describe a time when you have achieved a goal or created something special with a squad?

It was incredible to see a prototype turn into a real product. Me and my business partner have tried thousands of formulas and colors before the birth of our own lip product.

If you could time travel to a period in the past or future, which era would you visit and why?

I’d like to go back to when I was 16. I enjoyed spending time with my brother – we used to share a bedroom and share our secrets every night. But now he has his own family and a beautiful daughter, I’m very happy for him!

Kayla Wong

Can you describe a time when you have achieved a goal or created something special with a squad?

I think I wouldn’t have been able to achieve what I have managed to put out today if it wasn’t for my family. They are my biggest supporters in whatever I do. Every time Basics for Basics would do a pop-up, they never fail to show up.

If you could time travel to a period in the past or future, which era would you visit and why?

I would love to go back to the 50s/60s. That era has always intrigued me with its fashion. It was a time when women started to shake status quo and stood up for themselves. Would have loved to see that evolution in person.

Sue Chang

Can you describe a time when you have achieved a goal or created something special with a squad?

Going to fashion week is always one of my dreams in my lifetime. Last season, I went to Milan fashion week with my team. We planned and brainstorm together before the trip. My manager/stylist helped me line up with the brands and styled different chic looks for me. My photographer/videographer took very nice photos and creative videos for me.

If you could time travel to a period in the past or future, which era would you visit and why?

If I could choose, I would travel to the past when my grandma was still here. I wish I could hug her more, cook for her more and share my happiness and treasured moments with her.

Utah Lee

Can you describe a time when you have achieved a goal or created something special with a squad?

I love the fact that sometimes, my workout crew and I would match outfits to train and do badass group photos after the workout.

If you could time travel to a period in the past or future, which era would you visit and why?

If I could time travel, I would go back to the time when my kids were small and yummy. So I could squeeze (hug) them as much as I want because now they would say no to hugs and claim that they are ‘busy’. (eyes rolling) : /
