5 boots to satisfy your shopping addiction as we wait for autumn
September 4, 2018
Swap your summer sandals for something that’ll get you (fashionably) through the cooler months ahead. So, what’s trending this season? Ankle boots with motorcycle-inspired details (such as zips and metal studs) and practical, low-heeled boots in metallics, neutrals and various shades of red. Of course, you can’t go wrong with a classic black boot, either. Scroll down to see our mini-roundup of the best boots from the autumn/winter 2018 collections.
Leather Weather: Dior
Dior’s artistic director, Maria Grazia Chiuri, gives the classic biker boot a fashionable twist by adding coloured stripes on the side and a practical 4.5cm heel. (Alternatively, you can opt for the higher boot which comes with an 8.5cm heel.) Wear it with straight-leg jeans and an oversized leather jacket when it starts to get chilly.
Heavy Metal: Chanel
Chanel’s low-heeled metallic boots – choose from either oxide gold or bronze leather – reference the colours and textures of the tree bark and autumn leaves décor at the house’s forest-themed ready-to-wear show. Available in three sizes, each shoe features a pointed tone-on-tone heel and a miniature double-C logo. We love.
Neutral Ground: Givenchy
Refresh your autumn wardrobe with a neutral-coloured pair of boots from French fashion label Givenchy. Go for the edgy zip ankle boots (it comes with a diagonal zip which can be folded over) or the elegant soft ankle boots made from lambskin. If you’re in the mood to splurge, then pick ‘em both.
Shine Bright: Roger Vivier
Roger Vivier’s Sin Star Strass boots are adorned with a sparkling crystal star featuring mini letter Vs. The Sin heel on this timeless suede creation is taken from the brand’s archives.
Seeing Red: Aquazzura
Slip on Aquazzura’s Quant ankle boots for work or on the weekend (trust us, they’ll look good with just about anything). Available in four eye-catching styles: red leather, black patent-leather, antique-rose patent-leather and leopard-print calf hair with black leather.
Rock On: Valentino
Made in Italy, Valentino’s velvet ankle boots in burgundy are embellished with the house’s tiny gold-tone metal Rockstuds. The boot also comes with a slim heel and a leather zip pull on the side, making it easier to slip on and off. Team it with one of Valentino’s dreamy day or evening dresses.
