IWC Partners With Mr Porter and Net-A-Porter to Sell Watches Online

At a time when the watch market is struggling and sales are declining, IWC is taking a major leap forward. The watchmaker has partnered with online luxury retailer Mr Porter and Net-A-Porter to sell a core selection of its watches beginning today.

“We are very pleased to announce our partnership with the leading Swiss watch manufacturer IWC Schaffhausen which will further strengthen Net-A-Porter and Mr Porter’s unparalleled luxury shopping experience,” says Federico Marchetti, CEO OF Yoox Net-A-Porter Group in a statement. “This step forward will propel our Fine Watches and Jewellery category to the next level.”

This global deal marks the first time IWC has partnered with an online retailer. The collections on offer cater to a variety of tastes, including for sports and activities like diving and aviation, to the every day casual dresser.

On Net-A-Porter, a curated selection of timepieces across the Pilot’s Watches and Portofino families can be found. On Mr Porter, Pilot’s Watches, Ingenieur, Aquatimer, Portugieser and Portofino families, including the signature Portugieser Tourbillon Mystère Rétrograde model are available.

For IWC, the move is clearly geared towards introducing the brand to a new generation of customers. Says Georges Kern, CEO of IWC: “This is a great opportunity for us to make our products more easily accessible for a younger generation of watch lovers who are used to shopping online.”
