The Third Instalment of Chanel’s Gabrielle Bag Released

Caroline de Maigret is a Chanel ambassador and the embodiment of individuality and sophistication. The French model-turned-rock-producer-turned-model-turned-director, returns to the fashion house for the third short-film showcasing the style and attitude of the Gabrielle Bag.

Directed by French director Olivier Assayas, the one-take, monochrome film follows Maigret up a winding staircase into a romantic, Haussmannian apartment imbued with the spirit of Gabrielle Chanel, the House’s rebellious founder. De Maigret discovers an appointment with ‘Gabrielle’ marked in her diary, shortly before finding a silver Gabrielle bag on her mantelpiece, which inspires her to relive the memory of the photoshoot she did with Karl Lagerfeld for the same campaign. The film simultaneously captures the modernity of the bag and  the timeless spirit of the woman who inspired it.

De Maigret’s film is the third in a series after Kristen Stewart and Cara Delevingne‘s; the final instalment features Pharrell Williams, and will be released on April 24. Learn more about Gabrielle ‘Coco’ Chanel here
