98 restaurants reached for the stars in the 18th edition of the Michelin Guide Hong Kong and Macau, unveiled on March 19 at the Grand Lisboa Palace Resort Macau

Michelin inspectors placed 70 establishments in the one-star category for their “high-quality cooking, worth a stop.” From Hong Kong, new additions include China Tang, following a recent refurbishment; and Sushi Takeshi, helmed by chef Kin-san, whose credentials include time at Ginza-Iwa in Tokyo and Sushi Wadatsumi in Hong Kong. Across the waters, we also have Palace Garden at Grand Lisboa Palace Resort Macau and Don Alfonso 1890, both of which were promoted from Michelin Selected.
Cristal Room by Anne-Sophie Pic was promoted to the two-star ranking, marking the French chef’s second Asian venture that has been promoted to two stars. Meanwhile, L’Atelier de Joël Robuchon made a triumphant re-entry to the guide with two stars after reopening in late 2025 following an eight-month closure for relocation and renovation.
Three Michelin stars and Green Stars were retained by their existing holders with no new additions to the lists this year.
Beyond the restaurant awards, four hospitality talents also received special individual awards. Kim GwanJu of Sol was named Young Chef of the Year, Floriane Hureau of Caprice received the Sommelier Award, Jenny Ye of Macau’s The Huaiyang Garden won the Service Award, and – for the first time – chef Paul Lau Ping Lui of Tin Lung Heen was presented with the Guide’s inaugural Mentor Chef Award. With over 40 years of experience spanning kitchens in Hong Kong, Guangzhou, Beijing, Shanghai, Dubai and the UK, Lau is widely considered one of the top Cantonese chefs in Hong Kong – a true master of the region’s gastronomic traditions.
