#legendloves: Hortus Deliciarum, Gucci’s new high jewellery collection

Meaning ‘Garden of Delights’ in Latin, Gucci’s new Hortus Deliciarum high jewellery collection is a technicolour dream for jewellery lovers. Being the brand’s second high jewellery collection, creative director of Gucci and designer of this collection Alessandro Michele intended it as a tribute to the beauty of the natural world. The collection includes more than 130 pieces, including necklaces, bracelets and even a headpiece.

From the campaign videos and images, the connection to nature is obvious. A leafy humanoid mass of vines and flowers strides across a green oasis in the campaign video, while photos show actress Jodie Turner Smith modeling the pieces alongside snakes and birds.

The jewels don’t disappoint either. The kaleidoscope of colours in this collection remind us of a garden in full bloom. Upon closer inspection, you can spot the nature motifs with the tiny star and floral details. Bold in its saturated colour palette, the collection still exudes elegance and romance thanks to the delicate craftsmanship.

Which piece especially caught our eye? A gorgeous multi-colouredl necklace reminiscent of an upside down tiara in the best way possible. Flanked by stars, the centrepiece of this necklace is a gem whose colours seem to embody the whole collection beautifully.

With this stunning high jewellery collection, Gucci has us convinced to leap headfirst into the world of indulgent maximalism.
