Just an hour’s drive north of Phuket, Khao Lak is one of southern Thailand’s quieter coastal destinations with its tranquil charm, golden sandy beaches, scuba diving and outdoorsy, family-friendly activities.

This family-oriented resort offers a selection of stylish and spacious two-bedroom suites, designed to foster togetherness through experiences that nourish the soul, such as culinary workshops in the JW Garden and educational activities at the shark nursery and conservation project.

“As the world starts to travel again, this new opening will further stimulate the country’s tourism sector and attract families back to the Land of Smiles,” says Jakob Helgen, Area vice president of Thailand, Vietnam, Cambodia and Myanmar at Marriott International.

Thailand has continued to be a top destination within APAC since the relaxing of its restrictions on July 1st – when it fully opened to international travellers.

The resort boasts 52 two-bedroom suites ranging from 89 to 111 square meters. The property comes with bright indoor and outdoor spaces, Southern Thai-inspired design, contemporary living areas and private terraces or balconies that overlook the natural tropical surroundings.

On the ground floor, a collection of pool access suites allows guests to step straight into the inviting waters of Southeast Asia’s longest swimming pool – a 2.4-kilometre-long lagoon that features a water slide, a wave pool, and even an aqua trampoline. Young guests staying in one of these pool access suites get the added service of being transported to their room by boat – a standout service as part of the resort’s “Family by JW” experiences.

JW Marriott Khao Lak Resort Suites shares the extensive facilities of JW Marriott Khao Lak Resort & Spa. These include the Aqua Play Zone – a fully-equipped fitness centre, racket sports, the Kids Club and Quan Spa. The facility also offers holistic healing therapies from traditional Thai massages to revitalising body wraps and scrubs.

In terms of F&B, the resort has a collection of eleven restaurants and bars that offer a range of casual to formal dining options, including traditional Thai, Japanese and Italian cuisines. The Sala Restaurant & Pool Bar is its newest addition, which offers an all-day service of Asian and international food and family dining by the poolside. Then there is Drift Beach Bar & Grill, a new Mediterranean-style meat and seafood grill restaurant.

JW Marriott is part of Marriott Bonvoy’s portfolio of 30 extraordinary hotel brands.
