In a stunning display of innovation and heritage, The Macallan introduces two unique expressions: the TIME : SPACE and TIME : SPACE Mastery.
The former features a dual-chamber vessel that houses the oldest whisky released by The Macallan, a 1940 vintage aged an extraordinary 84 years, alongside a 2018 vintage that marks the first release from the brand's new distillery. This juxtaposition of past and future is a testament to the whisky maker's unwavering commitment to quality and craftsmanship, ensuring that each sip tells a story of its own.
Craftsmanship and innovation
The TIME : SPACE vessel is a marvel of design, crafted to highlight the unique characteristics of both whiskies. The 1940 vintage, matured in sherry-seasoned oak casks, offers a rich tapestry of flavours - dark chocolate, sticky dates, and hints of aromatic peat, culminating in an exceptionally long finish. In contrast, the 2018 vintage presents a vibrant profile of fresh green apple and soft wood spice, embodying the brand's forward-looking ethos.
Complementing this is the TIME : SPACE Mastery, a one-of-a-kind expression that celebrates 200 years of whisky mastery through a diverse inventory of exceptional oak casks. This release showcases layers of complexity, with tasting notes of sumptuous Medjool dates, sherry-soaked dried fruits, and a lingering finish of caramelised pineapple and creamy vanilla.
