Canon has officially broken into the creator market with the launch of its two latest products: the “EOS R6 V,” a new full-frame mirrorless camera in the V-Series, and the “RF20-50mm F/4L IS USM PZ,” the first L-Series lens for full-frame cameras to feature a built-in power zoom system. The launch took place under the campaign “One Camera, Many Stories” at the Grand Hall, True Digital Park.

At the event, Canon invited two leading creators— Khamkwan ‘Jean’ Duangmanee, a prominent Film Director, and Sittichai ‘Tor’ Rakpinit, the owner of the famous “DEKSORKRAO” page—to share their real-world user experiences. Both highlighted how the EOS R6 V perfectly meets the workflow demands of modern creators. Key advantages include:

  • Single-Take Efficiency: Capturing a single horizontal shot and cropping it into a vertical format without needing a re-shoot.
  • Overheating Solutions: Continuous long-duration video recording without overheating worries.
  • Agility for Small Crews: Ideal for small production teams that require high speed, quick scene transitions, and frequent style changes—all achieved with a single gear setup capable of telling stories across any platform.

EOS R6 V: The Next-Gen Full-Frame Camera Ready for Every Platform

Specifically designed for content creators, this full-frame mirrorless camera stands out with its 7K Open Gate video recording capabilities, powered by a 32.5-megapixel full-frame CMOS sensor. It captures the sensor’s full resolution in both RAW and MP4 formats, granting creators total freedom in framing and composition. Users can shoot horizontally and easily crop the footage into a vertical format for social media in a single take.

Another standout feature that addresses the pain points of live-streamers and interviewers is the built-in cooling fan system. This allows the EOS R6 V to record video approximately three times longer than the EOS R6 Mark III, ensuring confidence during marathon interviews, live event broadcasts, or single-take clip recordings.

Furthermore, the EOS R6 V caters to vertical content creators with:

  • A built-in vertical tripod mount.
  • An interface screen that automatically rotates for vertical display.
  • A front-facing video recording button.
  • Seamless compatibility with camera rigs and various accessories.

RF20-50mm F/4L IS USM PZ: Canon’s First L-Series Power Zoom Lens

The core highlight of the RF20-50mm F/4L IS USM PZ is Canon’s first-ever L-Series power zoom system, which enables creators to change focal lengths with cinematic smoothness.

  • Adjustable Zoom Speeds: Features up to 15 adjustable zoom speed levels.
  • Dual Modes: Allows instant switching between the power zoom and the traditional manual zoom ring that photographers are accustomed to.
  • Internal Zooming: The lens barrel does not extend or retract while zooming, eliminating the need to rebalance the camera when mounted on a gimbal or rig.

Powerful Image Stabilization

The stabilization system is equally high-performing. The camera’s 5-axis In-Body Image Stabilizer (In-Body IS) and Digital Movie IS work in tandem with the lens’s Optical IS to deliver up to 8.0 stops of stabilization for still photography. It also includes a Subject Tracking IS mode that calculates the object’s position during movement, offering exceptional flexibility whether shooting handheld, on a gimbal, or within a camera rig.
