Amid Bangkok’s ever-evolving landscape of soirées and luxury gatherings, something altogether more distinctive unfolded within the Royal Ballroom of Mandarin Oriental Bangkok. La Fête des Vendanges 2026 was not merely another wine dinner, but an evening that transformed the city into a gateway to Saint-Émilion, one of Bordeaux’s most storied wine regions.

Held by MrCRU in partnership with the Association des Grands Crus Classés de Saint-Émilion (ACCGSE), the event brought together more than 180 guests, 29 renowned châteaux, alongside winemakers and estate owners who travelled directly to Bangkok to personally share the stories behind each bottle poured throughout the evening.

La Fête des Vendanges 2026 has already been spoken of as the largest seated wine dinner ever held in Thailand, yet what made the evening truly memorable extended far beyond the prestige of the Grand Crus served, or the rarity of wines presented exclusively in Magnum format. It was, above all, the atmosphere that distinguished the occasion, one that gradually evolved from refined elegance into genuine celebration. Champagne marked the opening of the evening, setting the tone before guests were immersed into the world of Saint-Émilion through each carefully selected glass. The appellation remains one of Bordeaux’s most revered, shaped by centuries of winemaking tradition, cultural heritage, and landscapes recognised by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site.

What further sets Saint-Émilion apart is its evolving classification system, a rarity within Bordeaux. Unlike the fixed 1855 classification of Médoc, Saint-Émilion’s ranking continues to change over time, ensuring that each château must continually uphold the standards and excellence upon which its reputation is built.

Throughout the evening, guests moved effortlessly between conversations, wine glasses in hand, while live music brought warmth and energy into the ballroom. Discussions surrounding terroir, vintage, and the nuances of each wine slowly blended into laughter, celebration, and the rhythm of the night itself.

As the evening unfolded, formality gradually dissolved. Guests began dancing in the centre of the ballroom, château owners spoke with attendees like old friends, and wine became more than simply a drink — it became a universal language connecting people across cultures and backgrounds. And perhaps that is the true spirit of La Fête des Vendanges. At its heart, the celebration is not solely about wine, but about bringing people together — to share stories, create moments, and allow a single evening to linger far beyond the final sip in the glass.
