Amber Claims Top 20th Spot in World's 50 Best Restaurants 2016

Amber at the Landmark Mandarin Oriental placed 20th at the World’s 50 Best Restaurants 2016 awards ceremony yesterday, marking the sixth year the restaurant has made it on the prestigious list.
Richard Ekkebus, head chef at the two-Michelin-starred restaurant says, “My team and I are humbled that our commitment to quality and excellence has once again been recognised by this prestigious list for the sixth consecutive year. This endorsement, is a testimony that Amber maintains to be relevant on a global level, and is a reaffirmation to our entire team’s efforts to push the boundaries and to continuous evolve the guest experience.”
Amber rose 18 places to come in at number 20 this year, from 38th place in 2015. In 2014, the restaurant was positioned at number 24.
While Amber is the only restaurant from Hong Kong to make it to the top 50 list, 8 1/2 Otto e Mezzo Bombana, also from Hong Kong was ranked 86th on the top 100 list.
Amber also claimed 4th spot and China’s Best Restaurant on the San Pellegrino’s Asia’s 50 Best Restaurants list which came out earlier this year.
