7 resort wear brands to rock in the city

Jul 21, 2020

We may all be grounded this summer, but don’t let that stop you from shining in your best resort wear. The best summer labels work just as well in the city as they do on the beaches of Mykonos or the cliffs of Capri. Scroll down for a list of our favourite resort wear brands to beat the heat in.

Agua by Agua Bendita

Catalina Alvarez and Mariana Hineztroza started Agua Bendita in 2003 in their hometown of Medellin, Colombia by designing bikinis from scraps of fabrics found on the floors of Alvarez’s family’s garment factory. Fast forward almost two decades later, and Agua Bendita (which means holy water) is a fully realised resort wear label that is completely handcrafted by Colombian female artisans. Their speciality? Linen frocks and chic swimwear that often depict the rich tropical wildlife of their home country.

Matteau

Designed between Sydney and New York by co-founders (and sisters) Peta Heinsen and Ilona Hamer, Matteau is a label that is inspired by their upbringing, right by Sydney’s famed Bondi Beach. Since their debut in 2015, Heinsen and Hamer have quietly developed a cult-like following for their minimalist mix-and-match ensembles – whether it be paired-down bikinis in earthy tones or summer separates in breezy cotton, silk and linen.
