Snapchat has added a range of new features to their instant messaging app, but the two most important are the infinite timer and loop. These two new additions mean that a sent image will be displayed for as long as the recipient wishes to view it. Previously, photos and videos had a set length of time that they would last on screen before disappearing.

Snapchat is ultimately hoping to battle Facebook and Instagram in the world of social media. With Instagram having more users in general, their adaptation of the “stories” and direct messages will likely help them overtake Snapchat in the near future if Snapchat doesn’t continue to adapt.
