Dec 05, 2024

The Chanel 2024/25 Métiers d'art collection debuted against the picturesque backdrop of West Lake, Hangzhou

This collection draws inspiration from antique Coromandel screens, reflecting Gabrielle Chanel's affinity for art and intimacy. It showcases the craftsmanship of the Maisons d'art at le19M, emphasising luxury and meticulous detailing.

Director Wim Wenders created a film for the event featuring Tilda Swinton, Leah Dou, and Xin Zhilei, enhancing the collection's narrative.

Key pieces include long coats in luxurious fabrics, duffle coats, and jackets adorned with intricate embroidery.

The collection also features a range of travel bags and knitwear, including a standout jumpsuit with Coromandel motifs. Floral designs evoke the beauty of Chanel's screens, while colour choices reflect the hues of Hangzhou's landscape.

Footwear includes thigh-high boots and mid-calf options, complementing the overall aesthetic. This collection invites reflection on travel and dreams through its refined materials and layered designs.
