Halloween will certainly be different this year with the crowds gone and festivities toned down, but that doesn’t mean you shouldn’t dress up and have a bit of socially distanced fun. Whether it’s of a cult figure, superhero or creature of the night, complete your get-up with one of these standout timepieces:

Ulysse Nardin Skeleton X Magma

A great accessory for any superhero or underworld figure, the Skeleton X Magma watch by Ulysse Nardin comes in a hefty 43mm and is made with a bold combination of red, marbled epoxy resin and carbon fiber, making each piece unique. Given the materials used, the watch is ultra-light, scratch-resistant and extremely durable.

Fitted with Ulysse Nardin’s UN-371 movement with a 3 Hz Silicium balance wheel and gear train, this watch offers up to 4 days of reserve power, and was created for use in the dark too, with its red Roman numerals, index and hands all coated with red Super-Luminova.

HYT H0 Black Fluid

With its striking combination of orange and black, HYT’s H0 Black Fluid is the perfect Halloween watch – a modern, badass jack-o-lantern. This latest addition to the H0 family uses a black liquid to tell the time, which travels along the outer track of the watch’s black dial via a capillary (or thin tube) coated in bright orange Super-Luminova, creating a stark contrast. Apart from the lateral numerals and hands, the rest of the watch is black, including the 48.8mm case, which comes in black DLC stainless steel, with brushed, micro-blasted and satin finishes.

Cartier Révélation d’une Panthère

Wakanda’s black panther may have the vibranium, but Cartier’s got the diamonds. With the Révélation d’une Panthère, a vision of Cartier’s iconic panther is formed via 650 small brilliant diamonds, and appears like magic on the dial of this watch as the wearer tilts it to check the time. Then, just as quickly, it disappears.

This bit of watchmaking wizardry is achieved through a patented liquid that is between the crystal and the black lacquer dial. As the diamonds move from the top to the bottom of the watch, they go through a few invisible channels that form the face of the panther. It apparently took Cartier’s watchmakers five years just to get the liquid right. A delight to wear on the wrist, especially on dress-up nights, the watch houses a hand-wound movement with a 36-hour power reserve.

Hublot Big Bang Unico Sang Bleu II All Black

Getting inked for Halloween will be pain-free with this timepiece, the latest collaboration between Hublot and Swiss tattoo artist and founder of Sang Bleu, Maxime Pleschia-Büchi. The Big Bang Unico Sang Blue II All Black brings blackout tattooing to the fore as Pleschia-Büchi etches a three-dimensional design on the dial, an abstract of overlapping hexagons, diamonds and triangles all in black, brought to life by Hublot’s watchmakers through black ceramic and black PVD-coated titanium. The watch is powered by the HUB1240 Unico manufacture self-winding chronograph movement, visible under a skeletonised dial and an open case back.

La Mini D De Dior Tête de Mort

What better way to commemorate Dia de los Muertos (Day of the Dead) than by wearing one of these watches from Dior’s Tête de Mort (or skull) collection? The house’s La Mini D de Dior, a 19mm watch in stainless steel with bezel and crown set with diamonds, is the backdrop for these skulls on the dial, rendered in mother-of-pearl and gold, with bones, eyes and crown set with diamonds. The skulls are anything but macabre, according to jewellery designer Victoire de Castellane, who created the collection to represent Christian Dior’s love for life, reminding us to seize the day and cherish every moment.
