Diamonds are now a man’s best friend too, if the latest debut collection from Tiffany & Co. is anything to go by.

The iconic luxury jeweller is breaking gender stereotypes with its new ‘Charles Tiffany Setting’ diamond ring collection for men, named after the man who founded the New York jeweller in 1837, and it’s designed specifically for today’s man looking to wed.

The men’s diamond rings are an extension of the company’s solitaire Tiffany Setting, a timeless six-prong design that remains an industry classic today, and a Tiffany’s best-seller.

Each of the solitaire rings boast a sizable round-brilliant or emerald-cut diamond measuring up to 4.3 carats, in a bezel-style setting, atop either a titanium or platinum ring.

Architecturally, the rings mimic a classic men’s signet ring, not the typical elevated diamond engagement ring worn by women. But instead of the signet’s onyx, insignia or family crest, the diamond is the crowning jewel, harking back to the late ’70s and ’80s when men didn’t shy away from a statement diamond ring or two.

The rings also keep up with Tiffany’s sustainability efforts; each one coming with the diamond’s region or country of origin, where it was cut, graded and quality assured, and where it was set. The information is printed on the Tiffany Diamond Certificate, which extends a lifetime warranty.

The Charles Tiffany Setting debuts on Monday with prices for each ring ranging from US$15,600 to US$278,500.
