A partnership with F1 The Movie is a big thing for the Swiss luxury watch manufacturer.

IWC has launched three new Pilot’s Chronographs inspired by APXGP, the fictional F1 team in F1 The Movie. The Pilot’s Watch Performance Chronograph 41 in an 18-carat 5N gold case, the Pilot’s Watch Chronograph APXGP (43mm), and Pilot’s Watch Chronograph 41 APXGP in stainless steel case featuring black, gold and white elements.

There is also special edition of the Ingenieur Automatic 40 inspired by the main character Sonny Hayes (portrayed by actor Brad Pitt) in the movie. The dial is in Sonny’s signature green colour.

Furthermore, the Ingenieur Automatic 35 is now available in three versions: 18-carat 5N gold featuring a gold-coloured dial, and stainless steel with either a black or a silver-plated dial. Two-time Olympic champion Eileen Gu, who made a visit to their booth, showcased the new Ingenieur Automatic 35 (Ref. IW324903) with an 18-carat 5N gold 35-millimetre case and bracelet, completed with a gold-coloured dial.

Some of IWC’s classics, including the Ingenieur and Pilot watches, were reimagined with first-time innovations that push horological boundaries.

A new innovations is the first time that IWC uses its patented SPRIN-g PROTECT shock absorber system with the Big Pilot’s Watch Shock Absorber Tourbillon Skeleton XPL. The system protects tourbillon movements from shocks in excess of 10,000g.

Other firsts include the Ingenieur Automatic 42 combining the Gérald Genta-derived integrated bracelet design with a full ceramic execution for the first time. Meanwhile, the Ingenieur Perpetual Calendar 41 marks the first IWC stainless steel model to combine the emblematic Ingenieur design inspired by Gérald Genta with Kurt Klaus’ crown-operated perpetual calendar.

Another new piece to look out for is the Ingenieur Automatic 40, which comes in 18-carat 5N gold featuring a black Grid dial. Finally, the Pilot’s Watch Performance Chronograph Perpetual Calendar Digital Date-Month is IWC’s first Performance Chronograph to feature a perpetual calendar.
