“…The chemistry between actors is often what compels audiences to pause, to pay attention, and to become fully immersed in a performance. Dechchart ‘Sea’ Tasilp and Suvijak ‘Keen’ Piyanopharoj, rising talents from GMMTV, are one such pairing. Watching them on screen, it is easy to believe not only in the authenticity of their characters, but also in the closeness they share off screen.

From Only Boo! Head 2 Head Series, both actors have grown steadily in their performances. Now, as they prepare for their first fan meeting in Thailand, we invited them to revisit the very beginning, back to the day they first met, long before becoming the partners they are today.

#legend_th invites the pair to reflect on that first encounter, memories still vivid enough to bring about quiet smiles, and to reveal just how much they have changed over time.

Sea: “I was quite excited, to be honest. On the first day we met, someone told me, ‘You’ll probably be paired with this person.’ He was from the Alpha project: so I looked him up, ‘Keen, is it?’ When we finally met, I was really nervous. He seemed very alert and energetic, completely different from me. I’m quite reserved, so I barely spoke to him that day.”

Keen: “For me, it was a mix of confusion and excitement; it was during the casting. I walked into the room and saw him already sitting there. He seemed quite quiet. At the time, I was quite extroverted and wanted to talk to everyone, so I kept chatting with him, but he didn’t really respond much.”

From a first meeting filled with awkwardness and distance, both of them have clearly grown. When asked how the other has changed, their answers went beyond surface traits, reflecting how they have witnessed each other through formative years of their lives.

Keen: “Sea has definitely become more extroverted. He jokes around more now, and he’s much more expressive and confident.”

Sea: “We’ve known each other for about three years now, which is quite a long time. We met when we were around 18 or 19, and now we’re in our twenties. Being together all this time, we’ve seen each other’s growth. Keen has become much more mature and composed compared to before.”

For actors, witnessing a co-star fully inhabit a role can be one of the most powerful moments. For Keen, one scene remains particularly striking, when Sea was able to summon tears repeatedly with precision and emotional depth.

Keen: “I was genuinely stunned. He could bring himself to tears on cue, and do it take after take. It was incredible, especially his performance as Jerome in the Head 2 Head Series, which just finished airing.”

Sea: “For me, it goes back to our first series, Only Boo! I was still very new to acting, and it was extremely challenging. Seeing him perform so freely, without any hesitation, really amazed me. At the time, I still had a wall; I felt shy and unsure. But he wasn’t afraid at all. Watching him, I kept thinking, ‘How does he do that?’ I couldn’t do it yet, it really impressed me.”

Sea also added that in emotionally intense scenes, they tend to rely more on improvisation than rigid preparation, allowing them to respond authentically in the moment. “We focus on putting as much emotion as possible into the scene. When you’re acting with someone face to face, the more you give, the more impactful the response becomes, it’s like an exchange of energy that keeps building.”

As they grew closer, both discovered new sides of each other. Keen shared that what surprised him most about Sea was his genuinely easy-going nature.

Keen: “He’s someone who truly goes with anything, and I mean that in the most genuine way.”

Sea: “At first, I thought Keen was always alert and energetic. People see him as cheerful all the time, but he also has a serious side that not everyone notices.”

Having worked together across several projects, they have also begun to recognise each other’s strengths and the roles they would like to see the other explore.

Keen: “Sea tends to have a more composed personality, so I’d love to see him play a really playful, energetic role, something that involves a lot of movement.”

Sea: “I’d like to see Keen take on a very still, restrained role. In the past three series, he’s always moving, if he’s not running, he’s talking quite a lot. His roles rely heavily on physical expression. Even in the upcoming series WEIRDO-101, he still has to move quite a bit.”

One of the most revealing moments in the conversation came when they spoke about inspiration. Sea’s answer, in particular, was strikingly sincere, he named Keen as someone he looks up to.

Sea: “Honestly, I see Keen as a role model. As partners, we want to grow together. I observe him, what he likes, what he doesn’t, how he develops, and I try to keep up. He inspires me to keep improving alongside him.”

On the other hand, offered a different perspective. He explained that he does not have a fixed role model, believing that in acting, there is no one-size-fits-all for everyone.

Keen: “I don’t really have one. I think it’s about doing your best in your own way. I do compare myself to others sometimes, but every actor has a different solution. Even something like crying in a scene–everyone has their own approach. So I believe we each have to find our own path.”
