Watches and Wonders 2025: Rolex shines with new Land-Dweller and a golden 1908

Rolex taps into its know-how as it launches an all-new reference and brings new design details to a beloved reference
The Oyster Perpetual Land-Dweller debuts at this year’s Watches and Wonders, while the Perpetual 1908 features a shining, new iteration.
Drawing from the watchmaker's long history in innovation and craftsmanship, the Land-Dweller present is a striking fusion of contemporary design and precision engineering. The three renditions in Rolesor feature a combination of Oystersteel and white gold with a white honeycomb dial, platinum with a blue honeycomb dial, and 18k Everose rose gold with the same motif dial in white. The former two measure 40 mm and feature the brand’s signature fluted bezel, while the latter is an elegant 36mm with baguette diamonds around the bezel and as hour markers.

Paired with the tapered lugs is a brand-new integrated bracelet: the Flat Jubilee. The combination of polished and satin-finished links adds to the visual texture of this new design—the outer links and the middle case are bevelled, with the chamfers polished, forming a seamless luminous contour.
Featuring 32 patents, 18 of which are unique to this model, including 16 alone for the new movement calibre 7135, which propels the hour, minute and second hands as well as the date for up to 66 hours. This brand-new reference reflects Rolex's innovative spirit and design ethos that sets it apart.

The bracelets paired with Rolex's timepieces are almost as recognisable as the watches themselves. This year, the Perpetual 1908 gets a new golden treatment with an all-new bracelet combination that sees the elegant watch dressed entirely in shimmering yellow gold. Dubbed the Settimo, the new bracelet pairs with the 39 mm case with a white dial in this new 1908 reference.
The new bracelet is constructed as seven-piece links, which lends it an unparalleled wrist-hugging suppleness. Rolex has injected a refinement often reserved for jewellery making, meticulously polishing every link of this bracelet to reveal a bright, reflective shine. The concealed Crownclasp further adds to the seamlessness of the design.

While it's transformed with a new bracelet, the calibre 7140 continues to drive the 1908. The movement was first launched in 2023 for the model and features several patents, including t Rolex’s proprietary Syloxi hairspring. The self-winding movement and its Perpetual rotor give the piece a 66-hour power reserve. The movement drives the hour and minute hands, and the small seconds function displayed in a sub-dial at the six o’clock position.
