The Macallan – one of the world’s premier whisky brands – unveils The M Collection 2022 Releases, comprising The Macallan M, M Black and the brand-new M Copper

The latest development on June 20th unveils the whisky label’s next step in its prestigious “M Collection” in an immersive experience that introduces the three new members from June 21st to July 5th at The Qube, PMQ.

The M Collection features unique attributes that reflect the brand’s drive and emotions and are built upon the brand’s Six Pillars.

These Six Pillars are the foundation stones within The Macallan and are laid out as Natural Colour, Mastery, Curiously Small Spirit Stills, The Estate, Exceptional Oak Casks and Sherry Seasoning.

Introduction

When Macallan first announced its Six Pillars that set the foundation of The Macallan’s ethos, it would prove to be the starting point of the label’s vast yet exceptional range in producing first-class whisky.

These new additions to a distinctive line of whiskeys pay tribute to the unique copper stills utilised by The Macallan since it was founded in 1824.

The first three expressions are the 2022 editions of the previously released M and M Black, and the brand-new M Copper.

Launched as the latest addition and third member of the 2022 M Collection, the M Copper is said to be an ode to the Curiously Small Spirit Stills. Bringing whisky savourers a vibrant and elegant expression to the spun gold liquid, the M Copper Macallan has a buttery, viscous mouth coating bursting with fruitiness and a hint of sweet malty flavour.

The “M” in The Macallan M refers to Natural Colour. A result of the brand’s commitment to craftsmanship and using the finest natural ingredients laid out in sherry seasoned oak casks. It cultivates a spirit that matures in a small number of hand-selected casks. Its rich natural colour is of a rich amber hue with a full-flavoured character that conjures notes of chocolate, rich dried fruit and spice.

The Macallan M Black is a different beast. The M Black represents the brand’s Mastery and unwavering trust in its craft and creativity. The Whisky Mastery Team chose to use rare black-ended casks to create this spirit, which continues to mature in the sherry seasoned oak casks for depth and distinction. It is a move in which the team marries classic Macallan notes with peated whisky. The end result is a complex single malt.
