Take a look at these 5 whisky options perfect for Father’s Day

Father’s Day is just around the corner and we have come up with five whisky offerings that will delight even the most avid whisky drinkers

1. Bruichladdich 18 and 30 Year Old Single Scotch Whisky

The first-ever supply of 18-year-old and 30-year-old Old Single Malt Scotch Whisky of Bruichladdich has touched down in Hong Kong. This range of high-vintage whiskies is a new “Luxury Redefined” line by the brand that is conceived, distilled, aged and bottled on the island of Islay, which is located off the west coast of Scotland.

From its eco-friendly outer packaging that uses completely plastic-free materials, this premium single-malt scotch whisky is both sustainable and aesthetically pleasing.

As the first permanently available 18-year-old single malt whisky in the Bruichladdich Collection, The Bruichladdich Eighteen is a true ageing expression. When the distillery was restored in 2001, the Bruichladdich team was committed to reconnecting with the land and the spirit, celebrating the quality of the raw materials and introducing the concept of terroir into the whisky industry, as well as promoting the local community.

The Bruichladdich Thirty is aged in carefully selected, highly prized old bourbon casks. An exquisite and limited production single malt Scotch Whisky, The Bruichladdich Thirty is bottled at 43.2 per cent alcohol by volume, with a soft sweetness of toasted oak, honey and vanilla. Delicate richly layered dark chocolate flavours add to the elegant floral aroma, and a touch of sea air, paying homage to a whisky made entirely on the island of Islay.

“In the early 90’s the future of the Bruichladdich Distillery was uncertain,” says Adam Hannett, the master distiller at Bruichladdich. “From near permanent closure, to being the largest private customer on Islay, Bruichladdich Distillery and the local community have been reborn and prospered over the last 30 years. In the meantime, this fine wine is slowly coming into its own.”

Glen Spey-Glenlivet 16 years

On the more aromatic side is a harmonious blend of juicy green apples, grapefruit, coconut, and marzipan in this 16-year-old expression from Glen-Spey Distillery in Speyside. The finish delights with buttered popcorn, sweet chilli sauce, and stewed apples.

2. Port Charlotte 14 years

It is an absolute coincidence that our third pick is another Bruichladdich Distillery product, but it is only testament to the exquisite whisky this producer makes. Explore the smoky and peaty characteristics of this Islay whisky which has matured in a sherry cask for 14 years, offering a palate of grilled meat, smoke, and salty notes. The finish lingers with a blend of smoky peat, marmalade, and grape juice. With a hint of spice from the sherry casks, this is a whisky full of warmth and festive flavours, perfect to give to Dad as a thank you.

AD Rattray Invergordon 33 Years

A.D. Rattray presents a 33-year-old Invergordon whisky, showcasing stone minerality, lemon meringue, candied orange slice, and Demerara sugar notes. Bottled at natural strength and without chill-filtration, this Highlands expression embodies a fruity and fresh profile with a vibrant finish of cherry, almond, and citrus fruit opulence. The rich and layered flavours make this a great surprise for our beloved dads.
