At lunch, which comes at either HKD598 for three courses and HKD688 for four courses, appetisers such as lobster royale with scallop ceviche, heritage beef tartare and foie gras with clementine and caramel jus, and mains from both land and sea like tarragon turbot and whisky gravy venison will have you rejoicing. For something more extensive, their tasting menu dinner of either six or eight courses that comes with a Mortlach pairing for the main will be a good choice.

This holiday, contemporary southern Italian restaurant Giacomo is all about spreading the Christmas warmth we all crave for. Marinated red prawn with yuzu cream and Oscietra caviar, foie gras dressed in chestnut emulsion, sea urchin handmade Sardinian gnocchi and Mayura beef tenderloin with braised celery root and winter black truffle are just a few of the many scrumptious offerings available on their festive menus. As for the sweet notes, diners can expect the classic winter dessert of Mont Blanc chestnut with rum and vanilla ice cream and clementine and vanilla cakissime tivoli with meringue, clementine sorbet and vanilla ice-cream.

Highlights include the Christmas must-haves of the confit Kelly Bronze turkey leg with cranberry stuffing, pigs in blankets, beef fat potatoes and sautéed Brussel sprouts and roasted chestnuts; 30-day dry-aged rib of beef with truffle mash potato and baby spinach served with Diane sauce; and mushroom wellington with dauphinoise potato and sherry sauce.
