Start April on a Netflix high note. Among numerous new Netflix shows coming out this month, here are five most anticipated shows we have all been excited about

Tomorrow – April 1

If you’re a fan of the grim reaper genre, Tomorrow is the first one you need to check this month. Led by SBS’ Alice star Kim Hee-sun and The King’s Affection star Rowoon, Tomorrow follows the story of a half-human, half-spirit young man. One night, after an accident, Rowoon’s character came into the employment of a company of grim reapers to carry out special missions. The show released on the 1st of April.

Hard Cell – April 8

Here comes the documentary-style comedy set you can enjoy this spring. To be released on the 8th of April, Hard Cell tells the story inside the fictional female prison, HMP Woldsley. Catherine Tate, known for her British series The Catherine Tate Show and starring in The Office, will play the roles of 6 people. So be ready to look inside the comical truth of prison life.

Our Blues – April 9

Hometown Cha-Cha-Cha star Shin Min-a will make a powerful comeback with Our Blues, premiering on the 9th of April. Following a group of people living on Jeju island, the show depicts the perfect escape for those fleeing from city life. Jeju Island becomes the ideal home for those unlucky in love. Other leading actors, such as Squid Game‘s Lee Byung Hun, Sinkhole‘s Cha Seung Won, and Parasite‘s Lee Jung Eun, are also in the show.

Fun Fact: this is Shin Min-a’s first drama to star alongside her real-time boyfriend, Kim Woo-bin.

Anatomy of a Scandal – April 15

We can never miss out on a promising crime-thriller offering. Originated from Sarah Vaughan’s novel, this British anthology series portrays a sexual consent scandal amongst the British privileged elite. This high society thriller about sex, power, and privilege will premiere on April 15th. In addition, Sienna Miller and Rupert Friend lead the cast.

Russian Doll – April 20

Here is some good news for Russian Doll fans. Season 2 is finally here. After three years, the long-awaited follow-up season of Russian Doll will premier on April 20th. Set four years after Nadia and Alan escaped mortality’s time loop together, season 2 will continue to explore existential thematics through an often humorous and sci-fi lens. Schitt’s Creek star Annie Murphy will also be in the series.
