Watches and Wonders 2025: Chopard adds two new Alpine Eagle to its lineup

Chopard expands the Alpine Eagle collection and embraces a new symbol for its platinum timepieces
One of Chopard's most versatile timepieces, the Alpine Eagle, has seen constant refinement since its presentation in 2019. The beautiful piece features an integrated bracelet and a unique, beautifully fashioned iris-patterned dial.
Chopard launches a new platinum reference of this timepiece, the Alpine Eagle 41 XPS CS Platinum. From case to bracelet, the piece is fashioned entirely out of 950 platinum, giving it a bright appearance.
While this isn’t the first time Chopard created a timepiece entirely in platinum, it’s a first for the Alpine Eagle. Watchmakers often choose to launch exclusive dial colours to mark the distinction between platinum and other alloys. Chopard has instead opted to add an engraved bee to the timepiece case, a symbol of diligence and hard work that’s long been a part of the maison’s legacy.

The house is set to include this motif in all of its platinum timepieces going forward, and those who already have platinum Chopard watches in their collection can opt to have the engraving added to their piece.
This new Alpine Eagle features a self-winding L.U.C 96.42-L calibre with 65 hours of power reserve. The 41 mm piece features an ice blue brass dial stamped with engraving that mimics the iris of an eagle. The hour markers, along with the hour, minute and second hands anchored with a feather motif, are accented with superluminova.
For those with a smaller wrist, the house has added a 33 mm two-toned piece to its collection. The Alpine Eagle 33 beats to the movement of one of the world’s smallest chronometer-certified calibres, the L.U.C 09-01-C. Bringing life to the hour, minute and central second hands, the calibre has a power reserve of 42 hours.
This piece features the same eagle iris motif across its dial, this time in grey. The stainless steel is paired with a yellow gold bezel that’s paved entirely in solitaire diamonds, with double screws anchoring the 3, 6, nine and 12 o’clock positions. A combination of Roman numeral and diamond hour markers complete the dial.
Similar to the case, the bracelet with a triple-fold clasp is also in two-toned steel and gold. Chopard’s proprietary Lucent Steel, an 80 per cent recycled steel, is used throughout this timepiece, along with ethically sourced 18k yellow gold.
