The long-awaited sequel to Disney Animation’s Oscar-winning Zootopia is finally on its way. Bursting with fresh adventures, new characters, and the return of beloved favourites, Zootopia 2 is set to hit UK cinemas on 27 November 2025.

Originally released in 2016, Zootopia quickly became a global phenomenon, winning over audiences with its clever storytelling, rich world-building, and heartfelt themes. Now, nearly a decade later, fans will once again join the unlikely crime-fighting duo – Judy Hopps (voiced by Ginnifer Goodwin) and Nick Wilde (voiced by Jason Bateman) – as they return to the vibrant metropolis of Zootopia.

But this time, they’re not alone. The sequel introduces a colourful cast of newcomers, including Gary De’Snake (voiced by Ke Huy Quan), Nibbles (voiced by Fortune Feimster), and Dr. Fuzzby, a quokka therapist voiced by Quinta Brunson – each bringing their own flair and fun to the world of Zootopia.

The story picks up as Judy and Nick, now rookie police officers having just cracked Zootopia’s most high-profile case, find their partnership on shaky ground. In response, Chief Bogo enrols them in a counselling programme for police partners, dubbed “Partners in Crisis”. The pair soon find themselves entangled in a new and puzzling case – one involving the mysterious arrival of a venomous snake that could threaten the entire city.

Jared Bush, Chief Creative Officer of Walt Disney Animation Studios, and the director and co-writer of Zootopia 2, expressed his excitement about the project:
