Thanakrit “Ohm” Chiamchunya, a rising actor from Domundi TV, is steadily establishing himself as one of the industry’s compelling new leading men. While his growing body of work signals a clear and deliberate direction, what makes him particularly intriguing lies not only in the roles he takes on, but in the thoughtful, grounded mindset that underpins his evolution.
From earlier works such as The Next Prince Series, which first brought him into public eyes, to upcoming projects awaiting release, he continues to carve out his own space through roles that are increasingly layered and complex.
“Right now, there are two projects I’d love for everyone to keep an eye on. The first is ‘Your Third Series’, where I play ‘Song’, the twin brother of the main character. He’s an older sibling who becomes entangled in the conflicts and relationships of those around him. It’s not a role that exists along a single, linear path, but rather one that functions like a cog, quietly driving the story forward across multiple dimensions.
The other is ‘Magic Lover Series’, a fantasy series centred on magic. I feel it’s quite new for the Boy Love series, as we haven’t really seen anyone explore this genre in a serious way before. Each couple has their own storyline, almost like three narratives, three distinct styles and none of which overlap. For me, it’s both challenging and incredibly exciting.”

Although he began his academic journey in the science–mathematics stream during his high school, a pivotal turning point came when he entered the entertainment industry as a graduate of the Faculty of Communication Arts at Chulalongkorn University.
“I actually studied science and maths all along, until university, when I switched to the faculty of communications. Once I had the chance to work both in front of and behind the camera, I suddenly realised what made me happy. It felt completely different from sitting in a lab or solving equations. Being in front of the camera, it’s where my heart genuinely belongs.”
Despite a steady stream of work, Ohm still defines himself as a newcomer who is continually learning.
“I think the hardest part of being an actor for me right now is precisely that I’m still new. I haven’t experienced a wide range of roles like other experienced actors. Sometimes, portraying someone completely different from myself, or trying to understand a character on a deeper level, isn’t easy at all. But within that difficulty, there’s also a great deal of joy. It makes me want to explore more, to keep going.”
When speaking of dream roles, he references a character well known in fashion circles, “Miranda Priestly,” from The Devil Wears Prada.
“I’d love to take on a character like Miranda Priestly. She’s incredibly layered, every expression has purpose, presence, and a strong sense of self. She’s not a straightforward villain, but someone with her own perspective, which makes her both complex and fascinating. Another role I’d love to try is that of a murderer in a detective series like Knives Out. Playing someone who appears innocent while secretly holding the truth, that’s deeply challenging. You have to control your expressions, your eyes, and your inner emotions so they don’t reveal too much.”

Beyond aspiring to portray characters like Miranda Priestly, he also deeply admires Meryl Streep as his ultimate acting inspiration, what one might truly call a #legend.
“For me, Meryl Streep is the very definition of an actor. The way she prepares, the depth of her understanding of each character, it’s extraordinary. I also admire her mindset. She doesn’t place herself above others or create hierarchies within the industry. She’s incredibly humble, yet at the same time, she genuinely inspires the next generation.”
Looking back on his early days, he acknowledges how much he has changed, with each experience shaping him into someone more self-assured and authentic.
“I used to go to countless castings, anywhere there was an opportunity. Back then, I fought in one way. Today, I’m still fighting, just differently. I have a stronger foundation, more opportunities, and a deeper understanding of myself. The more I embrace who I am, the more people seem to appreciate it. Compared to before, I feel like I’m more myself now than I was before having any fans. I used to worry that if I were truly myself, people wouldn’t like me. But when I actually tried it, the opposite happened, the more I’m myself, the more people connect with me. I’m fortunate to have fans who love me for who I genuinely am, without having to put on a mask or try to become what others expect.”
Yet alongside this growing confidence, he does not deny the vulnerability that still remains.
“I’m quite sensitive, to be honest. When I see comments or criticism, I do feel it, it’s not as though I’m completely unaffected. I’m human, just like everyone else. I’m not always strong enough to withstand constant impact or judgement. But I’m learning how to manage my emotions and thoughts better.”

Outside of his work life, family remains his greatest priority.
“I want to take care of my family and give them a comfortable life. I want them to feel confident that I can truly sustain myself in this industry. Even though I don’t have a conventional job, I want to show them that I can stand on my own, so they don’t have to worry.”
When asked about his “best version”, his answer comes without hesitation.
“I think the best version of myself is simply being happy every day. I don’t need to be better or look better in any grand way. Just being someone who loves themselves and finds happiness in their own life—that’s enough.”
What makes this ever-smiling, approachable actor stand out may not lie solely in the diversity of his roles, but in a growth that feels both intentional and sincere. As experience continues to shape both his confidence and his vulnerability in tandem, Ohm is proving that a path in this industry need not be rushed, only honest, at every step of the journey.
