Japanese artist Takashi Murakami has created a limited-edition range of prints to support the Black Lives Matter movement happening around the world.
Murakami will be releasing six black prints featuring his signature flower and skull designs, with each limited to 300 pieces. All the proceeds from the sales will be donated to U.S. organizations fighting for social justice and racial equality, including Black Lives Matter, Equal Justice Initiative, and Color of Change.
In a statement posted on his Instagram, Murakami said, “I have said that a role of an artist is to discern the present and express it for the future audience. But if my art can effect any change here and now, I want to contribute it not only to give back but to give power to the Black community plagued by the racial injustice.”
For those looking to purchase the upcoming pieces by Takashi Murakami, they will be available in July via the NTWRK app.
