Tag Heuer has rereleased its famous Connected smartwatch with Nintendo, offering refined sportiness, but with a nostalgic playfulness, making it even more motivating to get those daily steps up.

For the debut collaboration between the Swiss watchmaker and the Japanese game console maker, the Mushroom Kingdom hero comes to life via a limited-edition Super Mario iteration of the Tag Heuer Connected smartwatch; known for its technological capabilities and refined elegance but today redesigned with the playfulness of Nintendo’s world, both digitally and physically.

For this limited edition collab, Tag Heuer’s ‘Connected’ watch faces have been reinterpreted with Super Mario special versions, four dials revisited to include special details associated with Super Mario.

First up, the ‘Timekeeping’ watch face has been refashioned using the retro elements from the 1985 version of Super Mario Bros. with Mario, all in pixels. Also, two versions of the ‘Heuer 02’ watch face have created: one using Super Mario’s famous red and blue colours, and the other with shades of Super Mario’s red cap. Lastly, the Orbital watch face has had its neural network replaced by Super Mario’s iconic elements that rotate with the movement.

The watch’s bezel graduation, push buttons and crown logo are also Super Mario-red, while the bezel boasts three symbols at the three, six and nine o’clock positions, in a nod to the Super Mario objects included in the dial animations.  Watch wearers can unlock these once a goal has been achieved in the day for an extra bit of fitness fun.

The watch’s steel case also comes with two novel interchangeable straps: black leather on red rubber, and a sporty alternative in matching red perforated rubber.

In a final tick of approval for Mario fans, the M symbol for Mario has been engraved on the strap buckles and on the crown.

The TAG Heuer Connected x Super Mario Limited Edition is limited to 2,000 watches globally and will be available only in selected Tag Heuer boutiques and at tagheuer.com from July 15.
