Penhaligon’s makes finding the perfect present a joyous adventure with its enhanced gifting experience and wide selection of olfactory delights
For more than 150 years, British perfume house Penhaligon’s has been wowing royals and regular folk alike with its enticing, eccentric and extraordinary scents. That includes concocting some of the world’s finest scented gifts, whether an assortment of must-have colognes, a trio of delightfully fragrant candles or a perfume that perfectly matches a loved one’s personality.
The gifting experience at Penhaligon’s, meanwhile, gets better every year with updates and upgrades to packaging, wrapping and personalisation services. In the latest developments, the venerable brand has refreshed its gifting vessels as well as wrapping options and gift tags – all while maintaining its commitment to sustainability by shunning the use of sellotape, bags and “faff”. It has also introduced gift box monogramming and gifting with Fragrance Profiling, allowing customers to determine the perfect scent for their lucky recipient.
In the case of Hong Kong style icons and influencers Faye Tsui and Charles Lam, there’s something particularly captivating about the Portraits collection with its storytelling theme and heavy glass bottles with brass-coloured animal heads. “I love the bright and sparkling Duchess Rose, which manages to feel modern and elegantly old-fashioned at the same time,” Tsui says of the floral woody scent with heart notes of rose centifolia and damascene rose.
Lam is similarly taken by the stately stag and head of the Portraits family, Lord George, and its fougère or fern-like style. “It’s a very unique fragrance and quite masculine,” he says. “I can imagine wearing this on a cold night sitting in front of a fire.”
Another iconic Penhaligon’s collection is British Tales, said to be inspired by “the wonderful and obscure, whether that be the history of the Jermyn Street Turkish Baths, residents of Blenheim Palace, Savile Row tailor’s workrooms, London Dry Gin, classic English florals, or Greek and Roman myths.” Quercus, for example, is a citrus/floral eau de cologne named after the Latin for the English oak while Luna is floral green eau de toilette that takes its name from the Roman goddess of the moon.
With so many scents to choose from, finding that perfect gift can be a challenge. But the promptest way to a person’s heart is through their nose and the surest path can be found with Penhaligon’s unique Fragrance Profiling. All you need to do is answer a series of highly scientific olfactive questions, and let the experts divine the inner workings of your – or your loved one’s – fragrance personality.
With all this and much more, including home fragrances and bath and body lotions and potions, there’s never been a better time to make your way to Penhaligon’s apothecary of olfactory delights and discover an array of gifts for any occasion and every nostril.
