This month, we’re #obsessed with the finest collections from Marc Jacobs, Louis Vuitton, Balenciaga, Bang & Olufsen, Valentino and Joyce
Street style
After being introduced during the brand’s autumn 2021 show, the Marc Jacobs print is back for spring 2022. Their special Monogram collection modelled by hip-hop artist Lil Uzi Vert features alongside models Georgia Palmer and Iris Law. Styled by Alastair McKimm and shot by Mario Torrenti, the campaign showcases the core values and aesthetics central to Marc Jacobs’ DNA. With effortlessly cool streetwear pieces, the collection explores genderless expression and celebrating individuality. It includes luxe canvas and jacquard jacket/pant sets, hoodies, jumpers and more in binary colourways.
Force for good
As part of a string of related events taking place throughout 2022, Louis Vuitton and Sotheby’s are collaborating to auction 200 special-edition pairs of Louis Vuitton and Nike “Air Force 1” by Virgil Abloh sneakers with Louis Vuitton pilot cases. The auction marks the first-ever release of the shoes created by the late men’s artistic director. Bidding opened from January 26 to February 8, with proceeds benefitting The Virgil Abloh “Post-Modern” Scholarship Fund to support the education of academically promising students of Black, African American or African descent.
City to city
Inspired by local and tourist loyalty, the Balenciaga Cities series pays homage to – what else? – some of the world’s greatest cities. Including ready-to-wear and accessories, Cities products are available exclusively in Balenciaga stores in the locations that are paid homage to, while Paris- themed Cities pieces and Phantom sneakers are available worldwide. Meanwhile, the brand has added a reusable porcelain coffee cup with removable silicone lid to its Objects line. Each cup features a varsity-style logo, representative of the store at which it was purchased.

Sounds like love
What to buy for the Valentine who has it all? Take a cue from Bang & Olufsen and treat them to a stylish and state-of-the-art audio experience. The Danish luxury brand has selected six perfect gifts ranging from its Beoplay EQ noise-cancelling earphones (with six built-in microphones) and Beoplay HX premium over-ear headphones to its Beosound A1 2nd Gen portable speaker and dust- and waterproof Beosound Explore outdoor Bluetooth speaker. All come in a range of colours, including a limited-edition Indigo in the Moment Collection.
Like a tiger
One of the fashion house’s iconic pillars, the Valentino tiger print debuted as the first look in its autumn/winter 1967-68 haute couture collection. Now, to celebrate the Year of the Tiger, the classic motif is roaring back on an array of contemporary clothing items as well as Valentino Garavani accessories like the Valentino Garavani Roman Stud bag. The Valentino Tiger 1967 collection is not only a celebration of the brand’s heritage but also a tribute to Chinese culture and a demonstration of friendship from the Maison to the country.
Play it forward
The arrival of the Year of the Tiger is an opportunity to celebrate tradition and togetherness at fashion retailer Joyce. The boutique’s core values of craftsmanship, creativity and care combine in a series of unique items, including this limited-edition mahjong set made in partnership with design studio Editecture. One-hundred per cent biodegradable, each of the 12 sets is handcrafted from black walnut wood and upcycled materials from archival collections by Dries Van Noten, Raf Simons, Rick Owens, Yohji Yamamoto and more.
