Montblanc: The Library Spirit pop-up store brings books and tea together

Jun 02, 2023

This June, Montblanc gives us The Library Spirit, a pop-up store that explores the British library as a place of enlightenment

Montblanc’s latest pop-up store is open to the public from June 5 to 11 and is located at the Montblanc Harbour City in Ocean Centre, Tsim Sha Tsui. At its launch event, some of Hong Kong’s most visible celebrities were in attendance, such as singer Hins Cheung, Alfred Hui, Phil Lam, actors Adam Pak, Will Or, as well as several fashion influencers in the city.

The store has been transformed into an English-style library. The inspiration was taken from the black and white tones of book printing, but mixed with green for a classical literature atmosphere. Guests can also move through literary classics in different areas to prolong their experience in the space.

Throughout the store, key pieces from The Library Spirit are on display. It includes the Soft collection of mini bags, inspired by the art of writing with pen holders that are popular with on-the-go explorers. Then there are the Series Backpacks and Soft Series 24/7 Storage Bags as well to complete the entire experience.

In addition, the Montblanc MB01 earphones available onsite allow visitors to listen to audiobooks. The Meisterstück Around The World in 80 Days writing instrument (a tribute to the famous classic literary adventure), and the Montblanc 1858 Iced Sea watch (designed with classic elements), are also part of the overall presentation.

Britain’s longstanding tea-drinking culture is also present in the form of the English library and the tearoom. Guests can journey from the literary classics section (marked throughout with famous quotes) to the Instagrammable tea “salon”, where guests can sample different kinds of teas inspired by these quotes.

The essence of “The Library Spirit” inspires every generation. Books and texts withstand the baptism of time and their immortality in human history remains a fuel for never-ending human thoughts, imaginations and aspirations. That is something that Montblanc hopes to impart and remind for those who visit The Library Spirit. When it’s all done and seen, one may mark this experience by using one of Montblanc’s exquisite writing instruments to pen down an inspiring message on a postcard to be sent to a loved one.
