#legend100does: Hot happenings in May 2024
May 13, 2024
We’ve asked our community for the hottest events they’ve marked down in their diaries this month. Be it art, food or entertainment, our plugged-in friends know what’s most happening

“This month, I’m going to find time to go check out the The Hong Kong Jockey Club Series: Noir & Blanc – A Story of Photography, because I love black and white. It’s M+’s first exhibition dedicated to exploring the medium of photography with more than 250 works from Bibliothèque nationale de France’s collection. I’ve heard a lot about Kinsman, a cocktail bar that spotlights Cantonese spirits on Peel Street, so I’ll definitely be trying it out as well. Current Plans is an alternative art space in Wong Chuk Hang. They feature great artists and works – last month, they hosted Sour Punch by Magdalen Wong. I’ll be looking forward to what they have next!”

“My favourite places in Hong Kong include home, where my family is; the gym where I work out; the humble cha chaan teng Man Lei Loi Fast Food in Hung Hom, where I eat with my daughters almost
every day; my studio where my golf simulator is; and the golf courses in the city – my favourite is the public one in Sai Kung, Kau Sai Chau, developed and run by the Hong Kong Jockey Club. I don’t have anything planned for my private life this month – I don’t really make plans on a monthly basis unless I’m travelling with my family and we actually just went on a short vacation to Tokyo early last month. As for work, I’ll be grinding on the new album and hopefully we’ll be able to record a few songs before the end of this summer!”

“Activities-wise, I’m happy going to any basketball court, really, with friends. For cafés and restaurants, I’ve been enjoying Hong Kong Science Park recently. It kind of has this university campus feeling about it, and it’s really chill and really nice. I’m going to be coming out with new music this month, so that’s going to be fun and I’m looking forward to that very, very much. And IU is coming for her concert on the 25th and 26th and I’m going to see it so that’s going to be great!”
