Kowloon Shangri-La: Enchanted Wonders for Christmas

Nov 18, 2024

David Ho looks at what Kowloon Shangri-La has in store for the holiday season

The holiday season is upon us and Kowloon Shangri-La has plenty planned for its Enchanted Wonders programme.

There will be a Christmas Tree Lighting tradition on November 29. Guests will be able to pose by the 3-meter tall gacha machine, set against the special Enchanted Wonders backdrop, for memorable photo opportunities.

From November 18, 2024 to January 1, 2025, little guests can embark on a captivating Scavenger Hunt throughout the hotel to earn a curated goodie bag filled with festive delights. They can also meet Santa Claus himself who will be making a grand appearance in the Main Lobby, Café Kool, Angelini, and Lobby Lounge on December 24 and 25, 2024, from 12 p.m. to 5 p.m. and again from 6 p.m. to 10:15 p.m. In addition, the Kowloon Tong School (Primary Section) Choir will be providing some musical cheer in the lobby at 6:30 p.m. and again at 7:15 p.m. on December 24 and 25.

The beloved Christmas Market is making a return at the hotel lobby, where Santa’s little helpers will charm visitors with sweet and savoury treats, like the Chocolate Christmas Piñata, Gingerbread Christmas Tree, and Christmas classics pastries including Stollen, Orange Lemon Panettone and Mince Pies. Those looking to get gifts should consider picking from a collection of four exquisitely curated hampers with a combination of Italian gourmet and fine wines.

The holidays would not be complete without great dining. The Lobby Lounge has an Enchanted Wonders Tea Set for two and four-course festive set dinners. They will also host a Countdown Party that offers a canapes platter with a glass of champagne, priced at HK$508 per person, for those looking to ring in the new year in style.

Café Kool also has a festive brunch, lunch and dinner buffet spread that is worth checking out. The highlights here range from succulent Roasted Turkey and Fresh Boston Lobster to Snow Crab Clusters and a delight array of festive desserts. Seafood lovers should make sure to visit the Kaviari Caviar pop up counter (available on December 24 and 25) and Whole Yellow Fine Tuna Carving (available on December 24, 25 and 31).

Meanwhile, the little ones can tuck in at the Enchanted Kids Corner, adorned with special decorations and filled with treats. The festive lunch buffet starts from HK$568, while the Dinner Buffet starts from HK$1,088.

A taste of Italy awaits at Angelini, along with a stunning view of Victoria Harbour. From December 24 and 31, 2024, indulge in the 4-course set lunch starting at HK$508 per person. Diners could also enjoy the 4 to 6 Courses Festive Set Dinner on December 24 to 26, 30 to 31, 2024. Expect Lobster with Scallops, Caviar and Mesclun Salad, Homemade Fettuccine with Sicilian Red Prawns and more. Dinner prices start at HK$1,180 per person, varying by date.

For drinks, Shangri-La has launched the Travel with Shangri-La collection of five cocktails, each inspired by signature bars at five Shangri-La destinations. Check them all out at the Tapas Bar, priced at HK$158 per glass. The Tapas Bar also has some bites, in the form of their popular Festive Seafood Platter (priced at HK$1,388 for two persons) or their Christmas Celebration menu.

For further dining options, you can also consider the Michelin-starred Shang Palace and Nadaman that will be also launching their festive menus.

If you are hosting a party or attending one, you might want to get Kowloon Shangri-La's  Festive Roast to go. Simply order via Shangri-La boutique or at the Festive Counter to get a party essential Roasted Turkey Set for 6 to 8 persons or succulent roasts that include Roasted Australian M6-7 Wagyu Ribeye, Beef Wellington, Honey Glazed Smoked Gammon Ham and more. These are available for hotel pick-up or delivery.

Christmas is a time for giving and Kowloon Shangri-La has presented a festive edition of the beloved Edward Panda for charity. Priced at HK$250, all net proceeds from the sale of this festive Edward Panda will be donated to Operation Santa Claus, an annual charity campaign.
